Moscow - A three-metre-long yellow submarine made of drinks cans and plastic has been unveiled in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg to mark the 65th birthday of late Beatles frontman John Lennon, Russian media said on Monday.
A likeness of the legendary singer's head appears through a porthole in the turret of the submarine, which celebrates the Beatles's bizarre classic chart-topping 1966 song Yellow Submarine.
The unveiling of the monument, anchored in the middle of a lake in Yekaterinburg, was part of celebrations by the local "Beatles Club" to be attended by the British consul to Yekaterinburg, Echo Moskvi radio station said.
