Santa Maria - The veterinarian who tends to Michael Jackson's menagerie of exotic animals at the Neverland Valley Ranch is suing him for unpaid bills.
Jackson has not occupied Neverland since he was acquitted of child molestation charges last June.
The singer is living in Bahrain but the suit against him has been filed in Santa Maria, United States.
Martin Dinnes, owner of Dinnes Memorial Veterinary Hopsital, claims Jackson owes $91 602 R529 000) in veterinary bills.
Dinnes' lawyer, Brenton Horner, said Dinnes helped the singer acquire animals for his zoo - incuding flamingos, giraffes, elephants and orangutans.
Horner said Dinnes continues to treat the animals: "He filed this (lawsuit) with great reluctance. He has a lot of admiration for Michael. This is just a business matter."
A hearing has been set for May 2.
