Johannesburg - Tsotsi stars Presley Chweneyagae and Terry Pheto have travelled to Los Angeles in the hope of bringing home the coveted Oscar for the best foreign language film
Ster-Kinekor said the actors would stay in West Hollywood on the famed Sunset Boulevard as tension mounted for Sunday night's 78th annual Academy Awards ceremony.
The film, directed by Gavin Hood, is South Africa's second nomination in the category after last year's nomination Yesterday, starring Leleti Khumalo.
Based on an Athol Fugard novel of the same name, Tsotsi deals with every parent's nightmare - a car is hijacked with a baby strapped inside.
So far the film's victories include the Jury Prize for Best Feature at the Pan African Film and Arts Festival 2006, the Audience Award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival 2006, the Greek Parliament's Human Values Award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and the Critics' Jury Award at the Cape Town World Cinema Festival 2005.
The film was also nominated for a Bafta.
