We Heard What?!
Fall Out Boy's Pete tired of being "gay", Zola stripped, Shakira's "hips" score big bucks & more.
One bad ending
Will Smith and Charlize Theron. What could make Hancock any better?! Apparently a proper ending.

  • Hollywood - Martin Scorsese's bloody crime drama The Departed snatched the best picture Oscar on Sunday.

The film, a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong thriller Infernal Affairs, tells the story of an undercover detective (Leonardo DiCaprio) who infiltrates a Boston gang run by mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson).

Other nominees for best picture were Babel, Little Miss Sunshine, Letters from Iwo Jima and The Queen.

    Best director Oscar

Veteran American filmmaker Martin Scorsese also landed his long-awaited first best director Oscar for The Departed after being snubbed on five previous occasions.

Scorsese, 64, is among the most influential directors in Hollywood - and until now, the most important never to have won an Oscar.

"I'm so moved, I'm so moved," he said as he clutched his long-sought Oscar.

"So many people over the years have been wishing this for me - strangers. I walk in the street and people say something to me: 'You should win, you should win.'

"I go in for X-rays, 'you should win one.' Friends of mine over the years, friends that are here, my family, I thank you."

Scorsese beat out Clint Eastwood (Letters from Iwo Jima), Stephen Frears (The Queen), Paul Greengrass (United 93) and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel) to take home the coveted director's prize on Sunday.
