London - Hollywood funnyman Jim Carrey claims he is afraid of women - but has vowed not to give up on love.

The 41-year-old actor, who used to date Renee Zellweger, plays commitment-shy Bruce Almighty, in the film of the same name, opposite Jennifer Aniston.

He reckons that the difference between men and women has never been greater than it is now.

"Nothing has caused me more pain than women," Carrey told German magazine Gala.

"Conflicts, misunderstandings, separations - it all just hurts."

He added that he does go out on dates, although he has yet to fall in love again.

The star has been through two divorces with ex-wives Lauren Holly and Melissa Women, but said he would not rule out getting married again. - Ananova.com
