Washington - Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jun, whose drug addiction landed him in jail in the 1990s, has married his longtime girlfriend and film producer Susan Levin, People magazine reported.
The ceremony attended by close family and friends took place in the Long Island town of Amagansett, outside New York, late Saturday, according to the report.
Guests including actor Keanu Reeves, who arrived by motorcycle, and singers Billy Joel and Sting accompanied by their wives, People said.
Forty-year-old Downey and Levin, 31, met in 2002 when she helped produced the movie "Gothika," a psychological thriller starring Downey and Halle Barry.
It is the second marriage for Downey, who has an 11-year-old son with ex-wife Deborah Falconer.
Downey, who has starred in more than 50 movies and is considered one of the most talented actors in Hollywood, hit a protracted rough patch in 1996 when police found heroin, crack cocaine and a gun in his car.
He spent the next six years in prisons and drug rehabilitation centres, prompting speculation he might not recover from this tailspin.
But the magazine reports Downey has been sober since meeting Levin. In fact, she agreed to marry him only on condition that drugs and booze will remain in the past, according to People.
