London - Michael Jackson has paid about $1.5m to create a new Neverland in the Middle East, reports The Sun.
The pop star has reportedly bought two villas and land in Bahrain's exclusive Amwaj islands and is planning a replacement for his California ranch.
A string of luxury resorts are under development, with a floating city, five-star hotels, a posh private school and, like Neverland, a zoo.
The star vowed to quit America for good after being cleared on child-sex charges in June.
"He'll come back to visit, but not to stay, not to live," said his father, Joseph Jackson, in a recent interview.
Joseph Jackson said his son had received lots of threats in the United States.
The superstar now lives in Bahrain and his lawyers have said that he no longer considers his Neverland Ranch in California as his home.
