London - Katie Holmes won't portray Andy Warhol protege in a new movie because Tom Cruise believes it would be bad for her image.
The 26-year-old former Dawson's Creek actress was reportedly set to agree to play drug addict Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl according to the New York Post.
A source said: "Edie was in and out of mental institutions and on all sorts of psychotropic drugs.
"Tom doesn't believe in those drugs because of his belief in Scientology."
Another source said: "Tom didn't want her to take the role because it portrayed her as a victim and he said she should only take strong roles."
Holmes' spokesperson said: "Katie is not attached to that project."
