Pretoria - Celebrity couple Joost van der Westhuizen and Amore Vittone-Van der Westhuizen have become the parents of a baby daughter, Kylie.
Kylie was born about two days before the expected date of birth, as she should have been born only on Thursday.
A very proud Joost said on Wednesday that mother and baby were well and that both were healthy.
Amor was in the presidential suite at Pretoria-East Hospital.
Joost said that Kylie had been about the same size at birth as Jordan, their son, who was born in the same hospital about two years ago.
"It is very exciting. In fact it is just as exciting as the first birth," said the former Springbok captain with a broad smile.
The couple made a list of names for the baby at the end of last year.
Joost a 'girl's father'
Jordan apparently often kissed Amor's tummy while she was still pregnant.
But he was much too occupied with his soccer ball on Wednesday to talk about his baby sister.
The couple moved from Silver Lakes outside Pretoria to the posh suburb of Glenvista in the southern parts of Johannesburg about a year ago.
Joost apparently got tears in his eyes after hearing the news that Amor was expecting a girl in October last year. Amor earlier said Joost was a "girl's father".
Amor was in and out of hospital with serious yellow jaundice during the first four months of her pregnancy but recovered soon.
A magazine has apparently bought the media rights to the baby's birth and first three months.
