Cape Town - Local Premier Soccer League club Ajax Cape Town are impressed with pop star Robbie Williams' soccer skills after he was on "trial" at the club last week.
The Englishman, who opened his South African tour in front of 40 000 excited fans in Durban on Monday evening, was comfortable on the ball.
The training session was supervised by Ajax first team coach Gordon Igesund, assistant coach Ian Gorowa and the club's head of youth development, Craig Rosslee at Ikamva.
"Myself and Gordon were very impressed with Williams' form and have given serious thought to signing him for the rest of the season," Roslee jokingly told the Ajax official website.
Williams is set to captain an all-stars team in a Unicef charity football match at Old Trafford next month and also owns a stake in English third-division club Port Vale.
Robbie Williams will be performing in Cape Town on Thursday, April 13 at the Green Point Stadium and on Monday, April 17 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
