Elton, George 'just fine'

London - Sir Elton John says he has made up with singer George Michael, after the two fell out over John's suggestion that his former friend was miserable.
"George and I are fine. He came and stayed down my house last year," the flamboyant British-born star told chat-show host Michael Parkinson on ITV on Thursday evening.
The two singers, who sang a famous duet during the 1995 Live Aid show, fell out after John said Michael had a "deep-rooted unhappiness" and needed to get out more. Michael responded furiously, saying their friendship was over.
"Elton John knows nothing about George Michael. We have spoken rarely in the past 10 years and what would probably surprise most people is that we have never discussed my private life. Ever," Michael said at the time.
But John said on Thursday that their feud was over. "George is great. I haven't seen him since Hampstead Heath," he quipped, referring to a north London parkland area notorious for encounters between homosexuals.
The former Wham! star, whose career was threatened after he was caught by police in a "toilet incident" in southern California in 1998, was recently pictured emerging from a gay sex haunt on Hampstead Heath.
