New York - Tori Spelling, who gave birth to a boy on Tuesday, is apparently patching up her strained relationship with her mother.
The 33-year-old actress and her husband, Dean McDermott, welcomed Liam Aaron McDermott at a Los Angeles hospital, said spokesperson Meghan Prophet.
Her mother, Candy Spelling, was at the hospital, according to a story on Wednesday on People magazine's website.
"Words can't describe the joy and elation I feel at this truly happy event," Candy Spelling was quoted as telling People.
"I am looking forward to doting on my new little grandson and all the memorable fun that comes with it."
The baby is the first child for Spelling, who starred on the long-running TV series Beverly Hills, 90210, produced by her father, Aaron Spelling, who died last June.
Opening their own Bed & Breakfast
She has been a gossip column fixture, from her marriage to McDermott in May 2006 to her reported long estrangement from her mother.
McDermott has a daughter and a son from a previous marriage. The actor had roles in the movies Against the Ropes and Open Range.
The couple star in the reality series Tori & Dean: Inn Love, which premieres on Tuesday on Oxygen Media Corp's Oxygen network.
Spelling and McDermott will be seen opening their own bed and breakfast on the show.
