Los Angeles - Actor Jack Black has signed on to star in a sequel to the hit movie School of Rock, after original director Richard Linklater also agreed to commit to the movie, Variety reported.
The duo will be joined by screenwriter Mike White (who also played Black's best friend), whose storyline in School of Rock: America Rocks involves Black bringing his class on a "cross-country field trip that delves into the history of rock 'n' roll and explores the roots of blues, rap, country and other genres."
The original movie cost just R228m to make but went on to earn more than R990.6m at the worldwide box office and millions more on DVD release. - Sapa-dpa
