London - The stars of The Dark Knight stepped out in London for the movie's European premiere on Monday night.

Batman star, Christian Bale, Sir Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart all attended the glitzy event.
Caine, who plays Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth in the movie, revealed: "I would definitely consider this to be one of the best films I've ever been in. This is not just the best Batman - which it is - it's one of the best movies I've seen. Christopher Nolan is a great director - I'm his biggest fan."
Other stars attending the premiere included RnB singer Ne-Yo, British pop band McFly and Duncan James formerly of boy band Blue.
Before the screening, the film's British director, Christopher Nolan said how pleased he was to hold the European premiere of the film in London and paid tribute to everyone involved in the project.

Late actor Heath Ledger has been tipped to be posthumously awarded an Oscar for his portrayal of super-villain The Joker in the film.
