Los Angeles - Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez is looking to add the title of athlete behind her name.

The mother of twins revealed on Monday that she plans to complete the Malibu triathlon next month, just six months after giving birth.

Jennifer told Good Morning America that a triple goal motivated her to take on the challenge: raising money for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, losing weight and making her children proud.

"It came up when I was eight months pregnant, when I was beached like a whale," she said. "I was watching TV, and I saw a triathlon, and I said, 'I think I could do that.' ... Maybe we could raise some money and do something really great."

Jennifer said that she trains on a treadmill and stationary bike for about 90 minutes a day, while her pop star husband Marc Anthony looks after the kids.

The couple has been taking care of the kids by themselves so far, but are now looking for a nanny as Jennifer plans to return to work.

Jennifer acknowledged that the race will be difficult, but had no doubt that she would complete it.

"If I have to crawl across that finish line, then I will crawl across that finish line," she joked. "It's for the kids."
