Vienna - It was an expensive trip to Salzburg for human rights activist Bianca Jagger, as she lost a ring worth €200 000 ($293 000) to the city last weekend, Austrian media reported on Wednesday.
Jagger, in town for the Salzburg Festival, asked police officers to help her look for her platinum ring with a 15mm aquamarine which she believes she lost near her hotel, the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper wrote.
According to Austrian law, the finder of the jewellery is entitled to a reward of €10 100 ($14 813), or around 5% of its value.
However, a staff member of Hotel Schaffenrath told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that so far, no one had come searching for the ring outside the hotel where Jagger stayed.
The 58-year-old former wife of Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stones frontman, has been campaigning for a number of human rights causes, most recently for a global ban on cluster munitions. - dpa
