5fm brings grief

Cape Town - Is 5fm going down the drain? Regular listeners seem to think so.
Just Plain Darren's departure from the station is not going down well as irate listeners are threatening to tune into other stations.
News24 has been bombarded by e-mails from 5fm listeners who all seem to agree - afternoon drive-time will never be the same again.
Ben Bechet is hoping it's just an April Fool's joke. "If it's true and not an April Fool's joke, then 5fm is getting in deeper and deeper trouble. Let's hope it's not true!"
Graham Symons says: "I think this whole 5fm thing stinks, the only reason I listened to 5fm was because of Just Plain Darren.
"Gillman is the most pathetic excuse for a DJ, all he does is shout, interrupt people and talk absolute rubbish."
Grant Beattie is taking the opportunity to stick it to newcomer Gareth Cliff.
"Gareth sucks. I'm sure they could get a better DJ than him. 5fm has lost me as a listener for good this time. "First Alex Jay, and now this. As the saying goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'."
Just holding it in
Werner Mack relies on sarcasm to get his point across. "Well done, 5fm, I am impressed by your wonderful market research.
"Can I please get the number of your market-research company so I can use them the next time I want to launch a new product that will never sell."
Ingrid Green is a bit more graphic.
"Ever heard the saying, 'You shouldn't hold your farts in... they travel up your spine and into your brain and that's where all your kak ideas come from?'
Someone at 5fm has been doing this...
The positive feedback so far has been few and far in between.
Brad Gower says: "We will miss Darren, but change is positive. I think some new music and life in the show will set the ball rolling."
Desmond Archer believes this is the best thing 5fm could have done.
"Darren did the show for himself because he thought he was sooo funny. He was not; he was childish. Now, him and John Waland (his lapdog) can spend more time together."
Nicole Coertse says: "Like it - Glad Darren is gone! Hated sports hour."
