The death of rock 'Cheeky' Mark has his say Pilgrim axed from 5fm Mark's cancer battle

Johannesburg - Highveld Stereo has appointed popular DJ and Big Brother presenter Mark Pilgrim - barely three weeks after he was axed from 5fm.

Pilgrim was dismissed after eight years at the station. A statement issued by the station at the time said Pilgrim's contract was terminated because of breach of contract and issues of trust.

Some of the complaints were that he didn't stick to the station's playlist and that he talked on air about the relationship between fellow DJ's, Gareth Cliff and Nicole Fox.

Ravi Naidoo, 94.7 Highveld Stereo station manager, says Pilgrim is a popular personality and a talented DJ. "We think he will blend in with the station's sound."

Pilgrim says he's looking forward to broadcast again. He will make his bow on Sunday between 06:00 and 10:00.
