16/07/2004 09:19 - (SA)
Johannesburg - South Africa's favourite rock chick Karen Zoid will make a special appearance at the Project Fame academy on Friday.
The Brussels-born, SA-bred rocker will help the contestants out in their 13:30 open class, where they'll be preparing for the Sunday gala.
Zoid released her first album Poles Apart in 2001, which fired the musical imagination of South Africa's youth and put her unique brand of Afrikaans folk-rock on the map.
Her much-anticipated second album - Chasing the Sun - showcases her development as a musician and once again wowed critics, receiving international acclaim.
After the open class, Karen and her band will play an unplugged set inside the academy at 17:00.
Tune in to DStv Channel 37 to catch all the advice from Karen and the teachers.
