Cape Town - Tokyo Sexwale's decision to choose two winners in The Apprentice finale has angered loyal viewers, but
apparently there's "method to his madness".
Sexwale, who was on a plane to London on Friday, couldn't be reached for comment, but a representative of his company Mvelaphanda Holdings, said Sexwale's decision was far from being indecisive.
"The decision to employ both Zanele and Khomotso is an extremely decisive one: both candidates are high calibre and
will definitely add value to the Mvela Group - thus the very definite and considered decision to employ both."
The representative also told News24 that both contestants performed exceptionally well throughout the series, in
particular during the final task and that they both have different strengths - making them joint winners.
"We acknowledge that some viewers may be disappointed; but we are sure they all wish the two winners well in their new
careers."
'There are no losers...'
Marketing manager Zanele Batyashe will join the executive management team of Mvelaprop, Mvela Group's property
development company. She will be based at Mvelaprop's head office in Cape Town.
Construction company owner Khomotso Choma will be joining Group Five's Building and Housing business as Operations
Executive. She will be based at Group Five's Johannesburg head office.
"There are no losers in this series," Sexwale said on Thursday as he announced the winners at the end of the 15-episode
series.
"Both Khomotso and Zanele have clearly shown they have what it takes to work for Mvela. We have no doubt that they will have
a significant impact on the group, and will use their skills and talents to contribute to our continued growth.
"It is clear that we could not single out one against the other - if only because I was well aware that our competitors
would have snapped up whomever we did not take on board.
The two Apprentices will start work with Mvela on October 1 2005, on a one-year contract.
