Johannesburg - Boy band heart-throb Sean Else is proud of playing the "baddie" in local soapies - this time he'll be an underhanded train passenger who hides packages in other people's luggage.
Else, member of pop group Eden, will be on the box from Friday evening as the mysterious Franco on Egoli.
This character, who makes his first appearance on a train, places a mysterious package in Braam's luggage when the latter decides to get away from Krynauw for a while.
The storyline takes place against the backdrop of the small town of Klawer (about three hours north of Cape Town) and this new villain promises to leave a lot of drama in his wake.
Else said Franco is not an ordinary guy.
"He is a guy that sort of tries to be smooth, but I don't think he pulls it off," Else said. "He is somewhat of a charmer, sort of a baddie."
It is not Else's first time in front of the cameras.
"I liked being in front of the camera again. They always let me play the baddie in the soap operas. I am never the good guy and I like that."
Else has played similar roles in 7de laan and Isidingo.
At the moment, Else's main project is the programme Hoenner on MK89. This programme is one of the most popular programmes on the channel and festival-goers at the recent Aardklop festival in Potchefstroom and the Biltong festival in Potgietersrus could see Else and his team wreaking havoc.
Hoenner, a mix between the American Jackass programme and the old Candid Camera, is moving its focus to smaller towns, Else said.
"That is where the real South Africa is after all," Else said.
