Johannesburg - A tribunal of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa found on Wednesday that a promo for a sexually explicit movie that was shown on e.tv about three months ago was broadcast too early in the evening.
The promo was flighted at 22:10 in August. A Mr D Basson made the complaint to the commission.
The promo advertised an adult movie that was to be broadcast later that night on the channel.
The tribunal found that the promo was sexually explicit and should have been shown after 23:00.
The tribunal was made up of Ratha Mokgoathleng, professor Sunette Lötter and professor Ravi Nayagar.
Bronwyn Keene-Young, channel director of e.tv said on Wednesday that the station was disappointed about the ruling and plans to appeal the decision.
