Johannesburg - Not even the country's well-known sportsmen may know what transpired in Panama - especially not if your girlfriend is a competitor in South Africa's first Survivor series.
The Lions rugby team's flank, Roland Bernard, hasn't been able to find out anything from his girlfriend Brigitte Willers, 24, who was one of the 14 selected to take part in the local version of the popular reality series.
Willers, winner of last year's FHM model of the year competition and voted the 56th sexiest woman in the world by the magazine's readers, said that she and Bernard, 24, were introduced by a mutual friend at a party in Pretoria more than three years ago.
Willers said: "I told him when I was selected to take part in the series, because we were allowed to tell our close friends and family.
"We haven't talked about it a lot, because we all had to sign confidentiality clauses to remain silent. I didn't have any contact with him while we were on the island."
According to Willers some of Bernard's teammates also entered the series.
"It was an absolutely fabulous experience.
"It was sometimes more difficult than what I'd anticipated, but I'm pleased I was part of South Africa's first ever Survivor series," is all she said.
"After my return to South Africa, Roland accompanied me to Ermelo to visit my parents."
Willers said she and Bernard became used to living in the public eye quite a while ago.
"Even though the two of us are quite busy, we still spend a lot of time together, because we exercise together."
Bernard told Die Burger that it was difficult to keep his curiosity in check, because he is the type of guy who doesn't give up.
"It was difficult not to see her for six weeks," he added.
