Johannesburg - South African-born actor Stelio Savante is slowly, but surely, becoming known worldwide and is nearly as famous as Arnold Vosloo and Charlize Theron.
The Cape Town-born actor has had breakthroughs in the American television and film industry and will shortly start working on the new television series Ugly Betty, produced by actress Salma Hayek.
Savante went to the United States on a tennis bursary in 1990, but his hobby of acting soon became his full-time occupation.
He first appeared in the soapie All My Children and later played supporting roles in the popular series The Sopranos and the film A Beautiful Mind.
He's also acted opposite stars such as Uma Thurman, Anna Faris, Luke Wilson and Eddie Izzard in the romantic comedy called My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
