Cape Town - Nickelback's South African tour has been postponed after an extended American and European tour took a toll on the group.
Local promoters Kusasa South Africa said the extent of the group's American and European tour had taken its toll - severely depleting the band's ability to perform.
The SA tour dates, previously scheduled for November 25 (Sun City Superbowl), November 26 (Fourways, Johannesburg), December 1 (Port Elizabeth), December 2 (Cape Town) and December 3 (Durban) are postponed, with new dates yet to be announced.
According to organiser Duncan Heafield, it was decided to postpone the tour after consultation with the Canadian group.
Nickelback also postponed all other tours planned for this year, including visits to Dubai, China, Japan and Australia.
A spokesperson said members of the band looked forward to their first visit to South Africa and they "will be able to make good on the tour as soon as their schedule permits in 2007".
The organisers told supporters to keep their tickets pending an
announcement. Fans who want a refund can take their tickets to Computicket.
