Stars shine at Jonker premiere

Johannesburg - Emma Thompson, Greg Wise, UK Film Council Exec Clare Wise and Anthony Minghella attended the film premiere of Ingrid Jonker: Her lives and times in Johannesburg.
Hundreds of fans arrived at Ster-Kinekor The Zone on Sunday evening to catch a glimpse of visiting celebrity family Clare Wise, Greg Wise, Emma Thompson and their child Gaya at the premiere of the documentary feature film.
Renowned director Anthony Minghella, also currently in South-Africa joined his friends at the screening.
The event was opened by honourable Judge Alby Sachs whose witty interactions with Emma Thompson on the podium amused everyone in the house.
Written, directed and edited by Helena Nogueira Ingrid Jonker: Her lives and times will release exclusively at Cinema Nouveau screened by Jamesons on 26 April year.
The screenplay for the feature All that breaks, inspired by the life of Ingrid Jonker is currently in development.
SA celebs Sandra Prinsloo, Grethe Fox, Elana Afrika
Celebrities in attendance at Sunday's invitation only event included Sandra Prinsloo, Michael Richards (also the narrator of the documentary), Grethe Fox, comedienne Irene Stephanou, Tobie Cronje, Jana Cilliers, Bill Flynn, writer Craig Higginson, presenter Elana Afrika amongst others.
The visiting stars recently completed workshop-style sessions on writing, acting, directing and comedy at the Market Theatre in Newtown.
This week's events are supported by The National Film and Video Foundation, The Industrial Development Corporation, Ster-Kinekor Distribution and The Market Theatre.
