Cape Town - All men listen up - your wildest dreams are about to come true. From 3 to 5 May 2007 South Africa's first ever Male Ego Exhibition will be presented at the Kyalami Exhibition Centre, near Johannesburg.
It will be the ultimate showcase for every man who aspires to "the finer things in life".
From fast cars to fine brandy and the latest technology - everything the discerning man could desire will be on show.
Organisers Guy Voller and Derrick Dissel are the brains behind this unique exhibition.
Voller has recently returned to South Africa after a stint in investment banking in the UK, while Dissel is the originator of a number of successful exhibitions and international trade fairs.
Voller told News24 that he got the idea from an exhibition he worked on in the early 1990's called Toys for Boys. "I wanted to recreate something similar, but this time it will showcase only the very best of all products on offer - it will be a premium Toys for Boys exhibition."
"A lot of men, like myself, aspire to owning the newest and best products. You might be driving a fantastic car, but as soon as a newer model comes out, you want it.
"It's all about appealing to man's every sense of desire in terms of his image and material belongings, from wearing an elegant wristwatch to driving a prestigious car, to bespoke investment portfolios!"
"In a nutshell: we aim to attract visitors who want to interact with the brands on show and who have the means and intent to purchase the kind of goods we'll have."
The world's biggest premium brands
The Male Ego team will be inviting in the region of 160 exhibitors to the show.
"We are thrilled to have signed up the crème de la crème of male-oriented lifestyle exhibitors. From Motorola to Foremost Yachts, Daytona Boats to Maserati and Tag Heuer to BMW," says Voller.
Other confirmed exhibitors include: Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, NAC Helicopters, Ducati, Rolex, Weber, Mini Cooper, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Snowscape, Mellvill & Moon, Van Ryn Brandy, Occhiali Sunglasses, Toyota (Land Cruiser and Prado), TopCar magazine, DStv, Southside Choppers, Vida e Café, Daytona Cars, Genesis Fitness, Breitling, Maverick magazine, Smeg Appliances, Audi, Intrepid fly fishing, Samsung, Glycine Watches, Homeation (home cinema solutions) and Tumi Luggage.
Voller says that The Male Ego Exhibition won't just be a once-off occasion.
"We're planning to do this every year," says Voller. "For now it will only be in Johannesburg, which is our main focus, but in the future we might also include Cape Town as another venue."
According to Voller the who's who of the South African social scene will also attend the exhibition. "We're kicking off the exhibition with a special brunch for VIP's and the press on the first day, which will include top businessmen and celebrities."
