Johannesburg - It doesn't matter who said what about Princess Diana, ten years after her death, actress Brümilda van Rensburg is still a steadfast fan.
And Van Rensburg, who portrays Louwna in Egoli, is not the only one.
The world recalled Diana on Sunday, on what would have been her 46th birthday.
Kwêla-presenter Eloïse Cupido said Diana gave the whole world hope.
When she died in a car crash in a tunnel in Paris, the hope was badly bruised.
"She lived the fairy tale. Diana was an ordinary girl who married a prince. That's huge!
"Besides which she was the first one who could wear red and pink together. In those days, that was a huge fashion blunder," said Cupido.
Diana's sense of dress was not all that impressed Sonja Herholdt.
'Attracted people with her personality'
Herholdt said there were aspects of Diana's life to which she could relate.
"Diana always had to put a front, and sometimes she struggled.
"She lived behind a little mask. She attracted people to her with her personality. It's just a pity that her life ended too soon. She could still have meant so much, to so many people."
"She must have been someone special to still be in the news a decade after her death," Herholdt added.
