Steve gets emergency operation

Pretoria - Singer and actor Steve Hofmeyr was admitted to a Gauteng hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning where an emergency operation was performed to repair a perforation of his colon.
He was still in a serious condition in the ICU of the hospital on Monday afternoon.
Steve's family asked that the name of the hospital not be published.
Steve had been complaining of stomach pains the past few days but never went to see a doctor.
His wife Natasha is with him.
She stayed in the hospital the whole night during and after the operation.
Steve's booked performances up to May 31 were cancelled because of the turn of events.
Performances would be rescheduled as soon as there was clarity over his condition.
