Pretoria - Steve Hofmeyr is going to be admitted to hospital on Tuesday to undergo surgery for the second time this year.

Steve said he was far more afraid of this operation.

Earlier this year, Steve alarmed his fans when he was admitted to hospital for emergency surgery for a perforated colon.

He said at the weekend that the operation for which he was going to hospital was the "final phase of my recent segmental colectomy" and would keep him out of action for three weeks.

The operation is being done to return his digestive tract to normal by removing the colostomy and re-attaching his colon.

"I must admit that I am a lot more afraid of this reverse operation, but the doctors have assured me that there are far fewer risks than with the previous one," said Steve.
