Pretoria - Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr has already started working on a follow-up to his very popular autobiography, Mense van my asem.

The book was released in October and is still a bestseller in South Africa.

"I started keeping a diary in August for a sequel to Mense van my asem because the last few months have been everything from hilarious to incredible."

On Sunday Hofmeyr also said he had a new website, www.stevehofmeyr.co.za, and that it was not a continuation of his old Spoegblok.

On the site, he opens up after the controversial incident last Monday when he threw a cup of tea in the face of Esmaré Weideman, editor of Huisgenoot, YOU and Drum.

Weideman said on Sunday she was "definitely" going to take legal action against the artist.

"We believe we should take a stand against any form of violence and physical and verbal abuse of women.

"I also feel it is my professional duty to take a stand against bullying behaviour towards journalists.

"I'm not going to get involved in a mudslinging contest with Steve Hofmeyr."

Hofmeyr writes on his website, among other things: "The least of my problems is acknowledging guilt. Even stupid people know that. I have never blamed Huisgenoot for my sins. "But I do blame the media for the trouble they take to get my face on their covers.

"How they offer money to my acquaintances, how far they fly, how they blackmail people, the photographers at my gate, the tips to my domestic help for inside information, the lies they fabricate."
