Cape Town-A new magazine to reflect the good news is about to present its positive slant on South Africans and their doings.

Proud! is the official magazine of the Proudly South African campaign, and it will focus on local inspirational and success stories.

The first issue, says the blurb, goes on sale this week and it deals with success stories from agriculture to the fashion world.

People who succeeded in their own small or large undertakings, or helped others to get work, will also have their stories published.

Proud! is published by Touchline Media and will appear on a quarterly basis.

Paul Ingpen, the publisher, says positive stories are often overlooked or written off as pro-government propaganda.

"The magazine will focus on the narratives of everyday people, and they provide really motivating insights on the land they love, especially as we move into international focus in the run-up to 2010."

Dalene du Preez, marketing and communication head of Proudly South African, said they were delighted to share an inspirational magazine both with their members and readers.

The first issue of Proud! will be available from Wednesday January 17.
