Los Angeles - A US tax enforcement agent on Monday pleaded guilty to covering up his relationships with prostitutes, including a 16-year-old who stole a government car, prosecutors said.
Internal Revenue Service agent Kenneth Fazende, 44, entered his guilty plea in Los Angeles under a plea bargain deal that could see him spend up to six and a half years behind bars when he is sentenced in September.
The charges came after Fazende brought the teenage hooker to his Hollywood apartment, left her there when he went to work and then discovered that she had made off with his government-owned car.
Fazende admitted that in order to conceal the theft he had told police that his apartment had been burgled and that an unknown thief had stolen CDs and the keys to the car, the US attorney's office said.
The IRS agent also admitted that between the summer of 1999 and the summer of 2000 he was involved with at least two other prostitutes who worked on Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard.
He initially claimed that he had met the working girls while investigating pimps who were not paying their taxes.
In addition to one charge of concealing and covering up his association with prostitutes and to another charge of producing a sexually explicit video of a 17-year-old minor in Trinidad for importation into the United States.
