Devils give man hell

Phnom Penh - A Cambodian man who cut off his own penis swears that four devils made him do it.
Teang Ny, 32, is currently recovering from a March 14 penis amputation for which he blames four large devils in red sarongs. The amputation took place in the Ang Snoul district of Kandal province, 40 kilometres west of Phnom Penh in Kandal province.
District Deputy Police Chief Khin Sokaun said Teang Ny insists that he had no choice.
"He told us that he went out to get coffee and realised that he'd forgotten his hat. When he returned home, he saw four large men, wearing nothing but red sarongs and red turbans," explained Khin Sokaun.
Teang Ny told police that the men claimed to be guardians of hell and ordered him to cut off his penis. Teang Ny claims to have protested, saying that if he did this, he would die. The devils disagreed, and told him that if he didn't cut off his penis, they would.
Khin Sokaun said that Teang Ny then offered to cut off his leg instead but this did not appease the devils. At which point, said Khin Sokaun, Teang Ny took a vegetable knife and cut off his penis. He told police that he recalled the devils scrambling for the severed penis before he passed out.
Teang Ny is now recovering in a local hospital and is faring well.
Police have no plans to search for the devils. - Sapa-dpa
