Miami - Rapper P Diddy is being probed by an animal rights group after penguins starred at his party.

Six of the birds were seen cowering on a floating glass platform in the pool of a new Miami hotel.

One onlooker said: "The penguins were obviously bothered by the crowd and the loud music.

"They huddled in a corner, facing away trying to get out.

"People started yelling, 'Save the penguins!'."

Michael McGraw, of animal activist group Peta said: "They were probably terrified. We are looking at whether cruelty laws have been broken."

P Diddy was billed as host of the party to launch the hotel.

But an aide said the birds were not his idea. - Ananova.com
