Thief lands in trouble

Zagreb - A thief attempting to flee a house he burgled by climbing down a tree fell from the branches in front of police officers, the Jutarnji List daily reported on Monday.
The burglar gained access to the house late on Sunday by climbing a tree standing next to it and prying the window open.
However, the owner of the house heard a noise and called the police.
The thief tried to make his way back down the tree with the spoils - a laptop - but lost his footing and fell when the police arrived and called to him to halt.
The burglar, who has 50 prior crimes, was detained by the police. - Sapa-dpa
