Singapore - A Singapore court ordered a Finnish man to pay $331 in compensation to his wife for cutting off her hair in revenge for cheating on him, the Straits Times reported on Thursday.

Antti Kristian Waroma was also fined $1 324 for assaulting his Singaporean wife after he found out she had gone out with her lover, the report said.

His lawyer told the court Waroma wanted to hurt his wife "emotionally as much as she had hurt him emotionally." His wife, a trichologist, was proud of her hair, the report said.

The court could not be reached to confirm the report because of a public holiday on Thursday.
