Cape Town - Survivor SA's Danielle, who was voted out on Sunday, made sure her new tribe, Aguila, lost the immunity challenge.
Viewers who watched closely would have noticed how Danielle, who is a very good swimmer, wasted time in the water and dragged her feet running in and out of the water.
This formed part of Danielle's plan to help Aguila lose the challenge, so that her former Rana tribe members would be stronger in numbers when the tribes merged. But unfortunately for Danielle her plan didn't work, as she was voted off.
Danielle told Die Burger: "I hate to admit it, but I made Aguila lose the challenge on purpose.
"I knew I would need Rana's help when the two tribes merged and if Aguila lost, it would mean we could get rid of Nico quicker."
"I positioned myself perfectly for the challenge. I knew who were strong swimmers and who were not in both Rana and in Aguila. I stood in line and Lezel looked at me.
"I just closed my eyes and nodded, because I was shivering from a rush of adrenaline. I knew I was going to crook. I didn't run as fast as I could and I did a stupid doggy paddle so that Rana could win some time."
Danielle said she was surprised that others feel so intimidated by a women alliance.
"Two men will fight and don't like one another at all, but their desire to keep conniving women apart will be bigger than their conflict with each other. It's also interesting that women often agree with the idea that they're nothing without a strong man."
