LETTER
Why do we sit back?
22/03/2007 12:56  - (SA)

Want to know more?
Answerit can help.

Dear Editor,

Our great nation, once plagued by a system based on human rights violations, only changed because the national party could no longer justify running their system financially due to international pressure. Not because they thought it was time for change.

We now sit on the other side of the fence, watching a system in Zimbabwe that operates based on human rights violations and we refuse to get involved.

What am I supposed to read from our government's lack of reaction, taking into account that the situation adversly affects our economy?

Those who are in a position to help have forgotten what living under apartheid was like, and give no credit to the people that helped them when they needed it.

Why rock the boat when you're lining your pockets and the very people you fought to free starve to death, live in squalor or die of Aids.

Jeremy,
Johannesburg

The SA government doesn't want to get involve as they support mugabe-do you not get it? why should we help them, they can look after their own problems. They must get rid of that dictator mugabe, IT does not deserve to lead the county ,he should be killed!!! For all the white farmers he has ordered to be murdered. - Andy

The land problem caused by Britain is the to blame!
23/03/2007 01:01
Jeremy, do u have an idea as to what was the cause of this problem in Zimbabwe or you are just talking because everybody got sothing to moan about? Have you asked yourself as to why the Government of Robert Mugabe forced removed white farmers from their land? Have you ever asked yourself as to how come the white minority farmers of British origin get to own such a huge land in a black majority country while the black majority have none? Once u know the answers then you will realise who to blame. - victor
