Just like it is 27/02/2008 14:16
Boet, that just like politics is. That is why I find the name Communist Party so funny, I mean can you name me one "Communist leader", who doesn?t drive a free car, doesn?t, wear a expensive suit, and who doesn?t get allot of money, or even who doesn?t drive the gravy train till its empty . I?m mean it sounds like Capitalism is the new Communism. And the reason nothing was done to him, he is a Zuma boetie. - padkos |

Madisha 27/02/2008 14:25
What are you saying? You are not clear and maybe you need to follow the inquiry clasoly and its findings before making noise. Do you know the terms of reference? Madisha was suspended by SADTU and I don't see no reason why COSATU couldn't do the same. I mean was having no backing anymore from his UNION. GET UR FACTS CORRECT - Thami |

I don't agree! 27/02/2008 14:29
I agree that it might be due to a zuma decision, but dude, get it right! FACT, the current ANC government is rotten to the core! FACT, SA is on a downward spiral! FACT, the world sees SA as a joke and is reversing its decision to invest! All due to greed and revenge! If i were to take money from my company(excluding my salary which they give!) they will fire me! Therefore, don't "borrow" from your company as this is fraud! If your company recieves a donation, DON'T SPEND IT ON YOURSELF!!!!! - Big R |

Whoopee for politics!! Who cares, they all politicans. If only they got rid of all of them and put the guys from this forum into office cause some of them have some bright ideas that the government would be to blind to see. - Win |

A rose in mouth and a gun in hand. 27/02/2008 14:34
Wait until they have no-one else to purge, when Mbeki and his group are gone. Such wars never end when the enemy has been defeated (they have concentrated on fighting for too long). We are facing a long trench war, no winner will emerge except for a badly bruised and limping ANC. The ANC could be facing its demise, and maybe that's good for our democracy, we could see a new organisation that cherishes democracy, fights racism and corruption with impunity. Who thought Phosa would be so vengeful? - Libembe |

Exactly! 27/02/2008 14:35
And what has happened to the story about Blade Ndzimande & the bags of donor money in his car's boot? Conveniently swept under the carpet by the NEC & Cosatu in the hopes that it will be forgotten eventually? I think Madisha is being used as the fall guy here. - The Truth |

Politics 101 27/02/2008 14:39
No politician anywhere in the world can be trusted by anyone, no time - especially here in SA. With the probable exception of Madiba, can anyone point to a politician with impeccable morals and a sense of fairness for all? Nope, angels don't roam the hallways of power. And had Mbeki's camp triumphed in Polokwane, there'd have been a purge the other way. It's dog eat dog, and their only interests are self-preservation and the lapping up of creature comforts. - Jaco |

Who Cares 27/02/2008 14:46
There is nothing the working class South African can do to make a change in his country anymore. All the agendas and back office dealings will continue. These guys, including all the political parties, are above the law. Stop stressing out about this crap and just get on with making the best of a terrible situation. All South Africans Have done it for decades and will continue to do so. - Elton |

R u Stupid? 27/02/2008 14:48
The point is that Madisha brought the organisation into disrepute. He operated as a counter-revolutionary and did not adher to the democratic principle of majority view = dominant view. Madisha has only got himself to blame, he messed up big time and he should take responsibility for his actions! And this story about the money, man that was weak. By all means lets rid ourselves of these counterproductives, we need to build this new nation of ours! Phambile!Phambile! - Cape Town Kid |

Madisha........................ 27/02/2008 14:50
They always wanted to sack him they just did not have an excuse to do so and that is revealed by the way in which they handled the matter. I wander if there still exist selfless leaders within COSATU? Learders who would admit that they could be wrong at times. If their arrogance continues, I wonder if they?ll still have our trust. They have forgotten that trust is not a birthright but earned. And if it?s earned, it can also be lost. - sphola |

it was long anticipated!!! 27/02/2008 14:55
It was evident from the on set that the commission of inquiry was not going to be subjective on the matter. Before the ANC went to Polokwane, SACP didn?t want Willie to go there as the president of Cosatu. My question is why didn?t they do the same thing with comrade Blade ?phuza face? Ndzimande since he was implicated in the whole saga?
Clearly anybody who seems to divert towards the truth within the ANC, Cosatu and SACP will be victimised. It?s a pity the scorpions have been emasculated by the same corrupt officials. I bet they knew exactly what they were doing when they started all these chaos of disbanding the scorpions, now they are on a mission to get rid of everyone who opposes them. I wonder what?s next, possibly amending the constitution to suit their criminal offences and ruling the country like it?s a banana republic!

Only those... 27/02/2008 15:03
Only those three men know what happened to that R 1/2 mil. The Donor, Nzimande and Madisha. Either of them can be telling green lies. How can we know since all three of them claim to be telling the truth?? - Thabo |

Competence vs ingratiation 27/02/2008 15:05
If any of the SA holy trinity the SACP, Cosatu and the ANC sack somone it can ONLY be to settle scores. They NEVER sack someone for NOT doing their job, that would send a dangerous signal... - Dries |

And the purge is on 27/02/2008 15:10
Please would the ruling party, SA Comunist party,Casato and the ANC NEC, please all resign and report to jail...Then can we get true non racial hounest people to run this country. - Gary |

I agree Libembe.. 27/02/2008 15:15
The ANC have lost the plot, too much power wanting and not enough sharing. We need a phoenix to rise from the ashes, not a black party and not a white party, just a strong party that will take SA forward. The ANC are surely limping along, getting fat and heavy from the self enrichment over the last couple years. In house chieftain wannabes is destroying the party. - Point Blank |

Sick of this! 27/02/2008 15:18
It actually becoming sad to read all these negative articles in the papers daily. There are no morals and standards nowadays especially in SA!!If we call this rubbish a democracy then i dont want to be part of democracy. Murder, Rape, Fraud, Corruption. Does anyone believe in GOD anymore. We are setting this example to our kids. Look at whats happening, Kids killing each other at school. Has that ever happened in this country before??? And we want to know why our people are leaving?? Im gone!! - Greg |

How did "she" put it the other day mm something like this 27/02/2008 15:26
Black to white: They only got appointed in these position in the old times (after 1994) and because of the colour of their skin maybe when Zuma comes in we would see a political change and then we can fire them all! Its all politics workplace and governement! No place to run.. *too bad so sad* - As die kat weg is, is die Muis baas! |

Dirty linen in public 27/02/2008 15:29
The linen should have been washed within the dual alliance of COSATU and SACP befor & maybe it was intended that way before Super Willy put it in public. I mean you don't say anything in public about your Comrade without consulting him/her or without establishing facts first or before fathomimg the damge that it would cause. I know it is polotics/politics but I believe there were consulations and Mr Madisha decided to go against a unanimous decision of the consultations. I'm sorry he was sacked. - JR |

Madisha, a Leader 27/02/2008 15:37
I urge all sane thinking SAns to ignore racist pessimist who continue to discredit the democratic government and focus on rguements raised in the article.
What is clear is that Vavi and his cohorts have managed to remove a domcratically elected leader out of office without even consulting workers who voted him during congress. In this way, Vavi is entrenched as a tinpot dictator who will continue to milk the coffers of the trade union as it happened with the credit card.

Madisha 27/02/2008 15:45
Did not foolow the protocol, he went to the Media before consulting his movement.Nzimande waited for SACP to complete enquiry before going to the Media on the otherside Mr Madisha decides to defend himself on the media before speaking to the people who employed him.His conduct was wrong, for the record his was not fired for the money in question he was fired for his behaviour. - Martin |

Madisha is corrupt to the core 27/02/2008 15:48
I thought people of SA wanted corrupt people to be wiped out of the face of politics, as much as the scorpions are doing with Zuma.
When the organisation is ridding itself of such, people Hlabangwane, start the rhetoric.
How on earth do you accept so much money and put it in the boot, unless the you had ulterior motives. Where is the money Madisha? you lier. - Philani |

Madisha 27/02/2008 15:51
What about the people who voted Madisha. Were they consulted here. WOW!this is a joke first they (<3000)vote for an idiot to ANC presidency and now sack a guy who was voted by the federation. Give VAVI a position of power Zuma and all the back stabing might stop. He is so pushing to get to the gravy train. WHEN are real people forming a political party because now I know I voted for fools. - Alu |

Please learn this processes before making coments, calm down u are emotional and that is clouding your judgement just like the writer of the article, there was a commission of inquery and there was 9 witnesse and Vavi happened to be one of them(Witness). - Martin |

Sorry peeps 27/02/2008 16:01
If a SACP party member is charged with corruption then the ANC and COSATU are guilty. They are after all an alliance. If you cannot see the massive fraud, corruption and self enrichment coming from the top brass then you are blind. They didn't even get rid of the travelgate fraudsters... that was a joke of note!! - Point Blank |

@ Mokone 27/02/2008 16:02
I don't even think you know what the term racist means. It is a word thrown around this country a will but I doubt highly that many of you actually know its meaning. If one colour speaks about another colour that is not racism as much as you have been fooled into thinking that. - A DJ |

Another Chapter 27/02/2008 16:03
This is simply another chapter in the book of absurdities that is SA politics. The world, insightfully, looks at SA and frowns at its ineptitude. While you have neo-racist nepotists in government and defunct political thought permeating society, SA will continue on the path of decadence boldly pioneered by every other 'independent' African country.....Progress is required not Congress! - Larry |

Madisha 27/02/2008 16:16
Yes I agree that Madisha might have behaved unbecomingly, but my Question is, what he said when he acknowledged to have given Nzimande 500 000 was true or false?. And if that was false then he deserved to be dismissed but if it's true it's bad for COSATU. Why was Vavi credit card issue not handled with the same level of seriousness Madisha's case was handled. As far as I understand VAVI committed fraud, which is a serious criminal activity but he was allowed to get away with it. - Tshepo |

It's is a clean-up 27/02/2008 16:30
"Bringing the organisation into disrepute" - what an abused phrase !! Madisha is just a fall guy here (Poor him, he is illogical as well by announcing his intention to step down with 3 years still to run in his Presidency term). It is a purge yes...the tsunami Vavi who chowed credit card money was't even suspended ! - MKT |
