Meet Spazman

Following on from our "in depth" interview with infamous News24 commenter MP3, we chatted to another familiar name, Spazman, to find out what makes this News24 faithful tick!
1. Age, sex, location?
24, male, Johannesburg

No I am definitely not MP3 and I sure hope I don't know him either!
2. So what's with all the commenting on News24?
It makes the time go by faster, plus I enjoy reading about how other people feel about certain situations.
3. Describe your political views.
I think white people complain a bit too much about the government and black people complain too little. The government is making changes to suit what they believe the majority wants and that majority is black people - just like the National Party did when the government was white. I sometimes feel white people will always be the silent minority - I think the government doesn't really care what we want.
4. What issues get under your skin? You tend to comment on many articles in a day, but what are the topics that affect you the most?
I enjoy the sports articles, and the "racial" ones and I enjoy the laugh when people start chirping at each other.
5. If you could be president for a day, what would you do?
That's a big question. There is so much wrong in SA. I want to see more Aids centres, more shelters for the homeless and orphans and I want all South Africans to look beyond the race line and realise we are all human beings and together we can make SA a better place. I would bring back the death penalty for murderers and rapists too.
6. Ever consider writing for my.news24? Do you blog?
Well I have written one article but I think it sucked because it was never posted. I don't have a clue what blogging is. I asked my wife the other day she also didn't know either Click here to sign up for a blog, Spazman! You might enjoy it!
7. Do you think commenting on opinion pieces and news articles is constructive? Do you feel as though you are participating in a democratic process or are you just sounding off?
Just sounding off I suppose. Nothing really happens about what you say. I was inspired by the article about the guy who took his workers for a TB test and it actually resulted in him getting helped. Well done News24!
8. What's your honest opinion of News24?
It's great, I love it! I'm constantly on it - I like the fact that there is a new story every hour or so.
9. Your dream for this country?
To pull itself together and to look beyond the race line. We all want to live in peace and I want to raise my child here and teach him to respect others. I believe its up to us "grown ups" to teach our children not our children us
10. Put your money where your mouth is. Who do you think will be the next president of South Africa and who do you think will win the World Cup?
I suppose for the sake of the country it must be Jacob Zuma (assuming the ANC wins the next election). The World Cup will be won by the best team and the best team is die Springbokke!
11. What's with the name Spazman?
Spazman has always been my nick. I got it from the movie Spawn where Spawns dog's name was Spaz so I decided to steal it and use Spazman.
