Imagine for a moment that it's now the 2009 elections in South Africa. Julius Malema and Zwelinzima Vavi are tearing their faces asunder with smiles as they gleefully watch prospective voters go to the polls.

You wonder why Malema and Vavi are smiling. Well, in January 2009 they kicked out president Mbeki. After that President Zuma took over. Vavi was appointed as the presidential spokesperson. Malema became the minister of Defence. Opposition parties were beaten, often shot, into submission and regularly accused of aligning with the West.

An excerpt from President Zuma's speech, in 2009, in response to British and American pleas for democracy in South Africa was as follows:

"Let these sinister governments be told here and now that South Africa will not allow a regime change authored by outsiders. We do not interfere with their systems in Britain and America. Mr Brown and Mr McCain have no role to play in our national affairs. They are outsiders and mischievous outsiders and should therefore keep out!

"The colonial sun set a long time ago; in 1994 in the case of South Africa, and hence South Africa will never be a colony again. Never! My minister of defence is prepared to take up arms for me, and destroy any dark forces, should anyone challenge my authority."

By the time he had finished this speech, inflation had hit an all time high of 200% and the South African rand was standing at R256.50 to the US dollar.

    No party

Politically things had taken a turn: Helen Zille was fast-becoming a frequent inmate at Pollsmoor prison - every time she went on a campaign in the suburbs, she'd get arrested. The FF+ was kicked out of South Africa - they simply did not represent nor reflect the needs of the majority. The IFP had now merged into the ANC - the president was after all a "100% Zulu boy" and there was no need for such blatant forms of factionalism.

The PAC finally realised that sometimes there can never be light at the end of the tunnel - they quit politics altogether. The ID quit politics too; they joined a circus and continued their parrot acts amongst crowds that would appreciate their repetitive antics. The UDM leader went back to Transkei and took up farming whilst vowing never to return to politics.

ACDP members became staunch atheists who were now convinced there was no god if South Africa could become what it was - they quit politics, started drinking and took up all the other things they'd forbidden themselves from. The faded AWB party was also disbanded and dreams of acquiring their own province in South Africa were shattered.

So that would leave you with one political party on the ballot paper in 2009 - ANC...

I know this all seems too far-fetched. But sadly it is a possibility. A real life example is Zimbabwe, which probably only has one political party on that ballot paper, as they retake to the polls today.

Therefore in conclusion, I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate uncle Bob, in advance, for his win in today's run-off elections - may the best man win, even if he is up against himself only.

      rubbish
    27/06/2008 08:24
What unrealistic rubbish. I doubt any government would want to follow in Bobs footprints. Why publish such drivell? - nic

      Spot the difference
    27/06/2008 08:26
Unathi's fantasy aside, we will go to the polls in 2009. For the fourth time since universal sufferage belatedly came to this country, and to elect a third president. Did you catch that? A THIRD President. The system which allows a President to go on and on and on, like the system they have in Zimbabwe or, for that matter, in Britain does not exist here. We can't have a Mugabe-like demogogue here because there's a limit on the tenure of a President. - Big Bad Bob

      Ha ha ha ha ha
    27/06/2008 08:27
Hey, thanks for a hilarious article, although possibly very true. Thanks for an entertaining morning. - Audrey

      What I never understand
    27/06/2008 08:28
Is why there's this assumption that what happens in Zimbabwe must necessarily happen here. Nobody thinks that what happens in Germany sets a precedent for Austria, or that what happens in the USA must happen in Canada. Clearly we don't think that all white politicians are the same, so why do we think that all black politicians are the same? - Big Bad Bob

      YOUR HEADING IS SPOT ON
    27/06/2008 08:29
At the rate things are moving now, one cannot but worry about whether we are going the same way. I think that Zuma can be even more dangerous than Bob and his followers will clearly try and make this country ungovernable should he loose or be found guilty in the courts. Personally I hope and believe that the people of SA should seriously pray that Motlanthe becomes the next Pres of SA as Mbeki was absolutely dreadfull, Zuma will be even worse and only a prayer and miracle can save SA! - Kobus

      HA HA
    27/06/2008 08:34
Ha Ha!! Nice one Kondile....Are you psychic? - Pete

      If you can imagine it..
    27/06/2008 08:34
It can become. Even though Zim proved that Africa always stay true to it's history, let's pray this never happens in SA. Pathetic leaders excel in the presence of gutless (and stupid) voters. - CJC

      Scary but true
    27/06/2008 08:35
good article with humour in it, and as you rightfully said - a possibilty!!! hopefully our leaders will wake up and avoid another zim. - MM

      Hope
    27/06/2008 08:35
Man i hope you are wrong!!! But, this is one posibility if you look at history - H

      Bullsh*t
    27/06/2008 08:36
Unathi, whats wrong with you! Have you lost all hope for SA and your marbles. I'm a white citizen and see a bright future for SA. Not the one you see. Please leave the country and go to Zim as it seems that you like that kind of ghaos. Maybe then your attitude will change towards our country. Viva SA, alive with possibilities, Viva - Whatever!

      Really is this funny???
    27/06/2008 08:37
another bradon faber fan....clearly this is not funny...idiotic to say the least... - Kolobe

      dream or vision
    27/06/2008 08:39
name one neighbouring country where the opposition party won an election? you can't? then you have the answer! now for those that have been to these countries, imagine driving from Pretoria to Johannesburg and see all the beautiful buildings most empty with broken windows with a handfull of second hand cars parked alongside and what was lawn now a meter high dense bush. - lp

      2009 elections
    27/06/2008 08:40
what a good way to start my day.i really enjoyed this and i bet other people will not find it funny.thanks Unathi - ebony

      Power junkies...
    27/06/2008 08:41
Excellent well-written article Unathi... amazing how potential tragic reality drives dry humour. I mean I can picture it - a bedraggled, aged and lonely Bob holding hands with JZ and his leeches and singing Kumbaya to the romantic refrain of that well known machine gun song. Excuse me as I wipe a tear from my eye. What's that? Bend over and take it like a man? Yeah well, trust me - you better grease up - 'cause we're all screwed. - Alex

      ANC failed us
    27/06/2008 08:42
We struggled for many years under the pressures of apartheid. Now it seems that the ANC might not be a solution for our struggles. Too much corruption, disregard of responsibilities, no accountability and almost no foresight when suggesting laws like the new Land reformation act. I am all for getting balance in South Africa, but don't make my bread cost me a days wage in our struggle for a rainbow nation. - Dissapointed

The reason it is a possibility ....
    27/06/2008 08:42
... is becuase anything is possible in Africa. I certainly hope it's not something we see , but people like Julius Malema have proved that African style intimidation tactics are alive and well in the ANC. If the ANC wants any form of international credibility , it should fire these empty vessels. Get rid of the buffoonery. - Big_Boer

A sign of things to come
    27/06/2008 08:42
Man, to close to the truth for me! Great article. - Pierre

      Mbeki
    27/06/2008 08:43
Recently Mbeki came out saying that President Mugabe is pleased with the currenct election process, he went further to say that Mbeki, personally, would like the world to know that President Mugabe likes his scrotum tickled during felacio, and when it comes to 'sucking', I'm willing to believe Mbeki as a professional. - Ruff

      Prevention
    27/06/2008 08:43
Unathi, what an excellent though disturbing article. You really made me think about were we are going. We have to come up with positive ideas to prevent this, not spew negative comments, so how about it people, how many suggestions can we come up as response. First suggestion is to get involved in your immediate community for real positive change, not for political gain. - Martin

      Leave the religious jokes
    27/06/2008 08:45
All too possible in SA, so agree with general trend. But why ridicule ACDP you ignorant idiot. - GW

      Elections to come
    27/06/2008 08:47
Brilliant. Wonderful sense of irony. At least some of us can laugh at our silly politicians and their folly's. I would definitely read more of your letters. - K Morgan

      ANC 40%+-
    27/06/2008 08:48
Very well written. I KNOW the ANC is in for a rude awakening in the 2009 polls as the educated South African (Black & White) who wants crime eradicated and a future for their children already agree now that they will not vote for Zuma. The delegates at the Polokwane conference do not represent the will of the people. ANC might still get the most votes in 2009, but they will undoubtedly lose the 2/3rd majority and the combined % of all opposition parties will exceed 50.1% GUARANTEED. - voice of reason

      Scary
    27/06/2008 08:48
Well... That just put a damper on my friday morning. Not something that any South African actually wants to imagine, but this article gives you some insight into what the people of Zimbabwe must actually feel like. - Mo

      Irony
    27/06/2008 08:49
Unathi, you've touched on something that shows the irony of Vavi and Malema's statements as supporters of the MDC. Mugabes' supporters are prepared to kill for Bob, Morgans, to a great extent, have not to avoid a civil war. Their words are identical those of Zanau/PF supporters and would lead to the same result. Are they too stupid to realise that? - DavidD

      Future elections

A sign of things to come
    27/06/2008 08:49
Unathi Kondile, I shudder to think that you are probably right. The only "mistake" is the election date of 2009. Any other date is a strong possibility. Let those with eyes see, and those with ears hear. - Danie

      Unathi
    27/06/2008 08:53
Please man don?t be ridiculous - fats

      Democracy
    27/06/2008 08:54
This would be quite an entertaining article if it wasn't so tragically feasible. I think African politicians must find a new word for "Democracy". As with many words ("kill" comes to mind) they use, Democracy does not have the same meaning in Africa as it does in other parts of the word. The AFRO/OXFORD definition of DEMOCRACY - To enrich ones self and allies sacrificing all else. - Sean

      Not next year
    27/06/2008 08:54
This will not happen next year but perhaps in 2014 but for sure in 2019. It's just a matter of time... sad but true. - Metallica Man

      Good Article Unathi
    27/06/2008 08:55
This is what i refer to in my foreign language as the factual & intellectual humour. Brilliant stuff broer. Zimbabwe is a symbolism of what Mzantsi is going to be in the future. - Siya

      Is this funny?
    27/06/2008 08:56
Actually Kolobe it is funny = just not to you. As with every humerous article posted you add your normal comment. We get it that you dont. And we can live with it, so best you start trying as well. Nice 'humorous' take on things Unathi! - AJ

      best case
    27/06/2008 08:59
This article is far fetched as a previous response suggests. It will not be so civil when war comes. Although arguably it has begun. - GALT

      Let's prove them wrong!
    27/06/2008 09:00
every single non-black person in every one of these forums thinks that a black government is doomed for failure (except the author)... am I right? Let's prove these doomsdayers wrong! Let's call off all divisions whether they be tribal in nature or whatever and work towards a better South Africa for all! I am educated yes, which means I have an obligation to look after those who have not been educated, and not STEAL these poor people's only source of survival! The time for change is NOW! - Mazakadza

      SA Election
    27/06/2008 09:01
Maybe we should all try and stop calling each other names, referring to the past, adn focus on the problems at hand and fix these so that we can build for the future. It is so easy to slip into a negative frame of mind, but extremely difficult to change back to a positive one. In SA, prior to the 2009 elections, maybe all political party leaders should be put onto a stage and each given a chance to air their views, policy objectives etc so that maybe, just maybe, we can start forming a united SA. - punter

      A nagging thought
    27/06/2008 09:01
Good piece of satire maybe. The nagging thought is how little there is to prevent this happening, just as in Zim. With Hlophe as Chief Justice, Vavi as Minister of Finance, Zuma as Pres, an 80% parliamentary majority, a clean-out of the justices, a bit of applied mob-justice by a newly empowered ANC youth, metro and other cops becoming like Joburg metro cops yesterday. The slippery slope is all too possible. - Philip

      'Nough said
    27/06/2008 09:03
I'm not bothered by such possibility. I just loved the analysis. - MaLeFaCtOr

      Foundation - ANC
    27/06/2008 09:03
No Kondile ? I do not think that this will happen in RSA, it is people like you after 1994 who also proclaimed civil war, anarchy and lawlessness. The ANC party was founded on principals of democracy and freedom and was ultimately the party who freed this country. Kondile did you see the interview on 3rd degree with the Secretary General of the ANCYL were she stated that it is not in the interest of the ANCYL or the ANC for them to pick up arms as they do know the consequences of doing so as most of them have the scares of war both physically and emotional. Are you a McCain fan ? Obama already defeated Clinton and McCain does not stand a chance all Obama needs to do is to convince one or two of racist South states to vote for him as all the other states he will take with ease. - colin

      So nice
    27/06/2008 09:03
What a great article to start the morning with. Very funny. If I can add a bit, imagine metro and SAPS having a shoot out twice a week and we all exited for the tickets to the Fifa 2010 became available, which will be held in France and don't forget about the unions requesting 250% increases and all this done in the dark, compliments of Eskom. Viva - KAC

      YA righ..
    27/06/2008 09:03
Over my dead body... - Gavin

      In addition
    27/06/2008 09:05
There will then probably also talks to incorporate Lesotho, Swaziland, Moz and Zim as provinces or dependent states of Mzanzi in or der to absorb the dwindeling economies into one and to form a force that can compete with the onslaught of the west.O yeah all products available will be cheap immitations of the real thing as our markets will be flooded with chinese goods.what is the problem..."WE'VE BEEN HAVING IT!!" - MIKE

      Brilliant!
    27/06/2008 09:05
Thanks Bro for a good laugh, especially about the Christians! Don't worry about the animals insulting you, they seriously need to get a life, it amazes me how they call you an idiot or ignorant fool but in doing so just show themselves for what they are. Me personally loved the piece. WOZA FRIDAY!! - Point Blank

      Sad But true?

Great article, funny and scary at the same time, lot of people think this way! - BigBang

      Unathi
    27/06/2008 09:08
Kolobe took the words right out of my mouth. There is (thankfully) only one Brandon Faber - we don't need you to start being a copycat. What's gotten into you, man? read Big Bad Bob's comments carefully - he seems to be one of the few sane people in this forum - VG

      Zuma will destroy this country
    27/06/2008 09:12
Jacob Zuma will destroy this country with his backward monkey policies. Zuma will be the reason this country has a civil war. I desperately hope I am wrong, but we need a better oposition party in this country. Zuma is just another Mugabe, he's a snake in the grass. - dhv

      PRIMAL FEAR
    27/06/2008 09:12
It seems that this article and many of the responses to it are really just expressing a deep-rooted, primal fear of what the future might hold. It's a symptom of the fact that we have not yet created a society where people feel secure and certain. But my view is that our lives in the next decade will be coloured more by international events, with the great powers scrambling for scarce resources. This will be a new cold war, and we will be affected more by this than anything else. - Jack

      err...
    27/06/2008 09:13
This would be funny if there was less chance of it actually happening. - Rian

      Unathi Kondile
    27/06/2008 09:14
Preach on my brother! This is true, and I can guarantee you that is will happen, not in 2009 thou... But our country is doomed with this government! The word hope has become more of a urban legend! If Zuma, lives to his words... I will follow him with pride. But with his Kahonies like Julius(aka Idiot)or as you called it minister of defence. No hope! Keep it real my fellow comrades - Dr Phil

      Humour
    27/06/2008 09:15
I enjoyed the humour. One of the most important things is to be able to laugh at yourself. To those who say it can't happen here, remember a two thirds majority can change the constitution. Blair will lose at teh polls - The English don't want a Scot as PM. Are the Xhosas prepared to accept a Zulu? - Jim

      ANC children's league
    27/06/2008 09:15
I firmly believe that it can't happen here, until I heard that idiot thug Julius Malema. he has Mugabe mentality, anyone who differs with him is a racist, imperialist, puppet of the West. If we accept that standard of leader in SA we will follow Zim. - Phil

      hahaha!
    27/06/2008 09:20
As an atheist, I take offence to you likening me to an ACDP member. - thatotherguy

      Well, maybe...
    27/06/2008 09:20
however i believe there are fundemental differences between Zim and SA. the one thing i always say is that SA'ns are fighters, i dont see us accepting being ruled by one mad person for years, like the Zim's have. what's going to take them to topple this man out?? - Boni

      Did anyone else see..
    27/06/2008 09:20
the four year old boy with his one eye beaten shut,(just one of many)and whose mother has been missing ever since they were attacked by Mugabe's thugs? The child has not speoken since.May all these acts be on Mbeki's head,as well as all those others in Africa and the world who have taken no action up to now to stop this barbarism. - The Truth

      SA is not Zim...
    27/06/2008 09:21
it never was and it never will be. I am always astounded at how gullible, ignorant and uninformed people are when they compare SA with Zim. But then again, there are still people that believe when Mandela passes on, all white people will be murdered in SA... - witseun

You have a problem with racism. You seem to desplay an obsessive behaviour over whites and racism. Please dont give whites so much power over your life. You may need therapy. - deb

      Different president, same disease
    27/06/2008 09:22
The cancer is the party itself. Mugabe is not really the problem. If it were just one man he would have been taken out by his cronies long ago. Its the way the party has spread like a cancer into all the organs of state and all those individuals depend on that patronage to make a living. That's why ZANU-PF defends like it does. It has a lot to lose. And so does the ANC. How can a party that was bust in 2004 declare a value of R1.75billion at Polokwane give up power easily? - Zoo Keeper

      I believe we're not Zimbabwe
    27/06/2008 09:23
If I didn't, I would be answering opportunities to emigrate and I wouldn't be sacrificing my career to become a teacher and go work in the trenches. I believe South Africa is a line in the sand in the battle for civilisation and democracy, and the world knows it. We have a chance of achieving something Africans can be proud of, though we will all have to make sacrifices and reach compromises. It will not be like living in Perth because this isn't Perth (thank heavens!). Let's make it work! - Pieter Joubert

@kolobe ... this article is already partly true...
    27/06/2008 09:23
On Chris Roper s article you said that you would kill anyone who hurts Zuma s chances of becoming president. All DA supporters do that by not voting for him - so, by your own admission, you want to kill them. That is no different from a Zanu-PF militant slaughtering an MDC follower, except you just haven t done it yet. So this article s prediction already exists - at least in your mind... - wit koos

      What if ANC loses electtion!
    27/06/2008 09:24
The ANC will never give up power even if they are voted out fairly in 2009. This will be the cause of civil war in South Africa. ANC is just as bad as Mugabe's evil regime. - debbie

Your aticle was funny and entertaining...one thing I promise you though. The Boers will have a republic, maybe not in my lifetime, but it will happen. My wish is for every person and nation to be free and feel free and if that means a seperate country, so be it. - Boerseun

      One problem with your sketch...
    27/06/2008 09:27
I really think Barack Obama will win as the American public is quite tired of the Texas-style leaders. One can only ask, where did it all go wrong for SA? - Chris

You are so predictable, you're actually getting boring now ;) - debbie

      @Colin
    27/06/2008 09:28
Serious question - Is SA not in (a low intensity) civil war? Are we not a lawless society, with anarchy a real possibility? I wish I could share Mazakadza's optimism, but Africa's history is clear and I'm a realist. I thought the ANC was doing ok, until recently, when the world saw TM holding Bob's hand. Like it or not this shows African gov mentallity. - Sean

Convincing yourselves on a limited medium
    27/06/2008 09:30
It seems that the general view in the digital world has gone over to convince itself that the ANC is being scaled down, but I assure you that in reality this is not the case. Ballot stations are especially distributed closer to those who vote on emotion after a few big "anti-white-apartheid-struggle" speeches, therefore convincing rural people. Unfortunately for those of us who vote in reason, will not get our way until all the other parties combine forces and start massive election campaigns. - ElectroMan

      First comment from "rubbish"
    27/06/2008 09:33
Can't you see 'tongue in cheek' when you read it? Obviously you don't know the meaning of satire....Ironically, however, some of it really could happen. Just look at Zim as proof. So I really don't agree with your comment that this is "unrealistic rubbish". Anything's possible in SA - just look at the recent issues our country has faced, the slow decay and regression - don't be naive!!!! - Oz

      Point Blank
    27/06/2008 09:39
Point Blank, do you have something against Christians. if you think that they will turn to drink etc then you are totally wrong, as we get our strength and guidence from our Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ. if you read what it says in 2 Chronicals 7:14 you will understand why 2 Chr 7:14 14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.. - Vernon Lammerding

      Just a thought
    27/06/2008 09:41
Hilarious parody. I do hope that it does not become real. I'll be voting to avoid just such a scary prospect. Such a scenario is bad for all, black or white. Malema's statements is probarly due to Zuma still looking for his machine gun :) - Morgoth

      No 2010!!!!!
    27/06/2008 09:43
With every breath in my body I will campaign and send e mails to as many media houses in the world in the hope my plea for the 2010 soccer world cup to be moved to another country will be published. I urge you to do the same. The ANC government is complacent in the the rape, murder and torture in Zimbabwe. They call ZANU-PF allies. Death allies! The blatant support this ANC Government is giving ZANU-PF will not be forgotten. Death to ZANU-PF! Death to Mugabe! - Anthony

      Look at history
    27/06/2008 09:48
If we look at history this is all bound to happen, sometime. There is not a single african country that is a developed country. All are third world. The only reason SA has managed to develop the way it has, is because the 'freedom fighters' only started ruling this place 14 years ago. Give it time. When the white man leaves, the development usually leaves with them. This is not my opinion, but historical facts. - Gus

      Mob rules OK
    27/06/2008 09:48
I hope that you are far from the truth and I firmly believe that people from the major cities will not go down this route. I am not too sure about the illiterates in the non-urban areas as these will all be lining up to join the JMPD or Post Office or ANC caucus. Please don't publish this sort of article again as it sows bad seeds of thought. - rod

      Don't think so
    27/06/2008 09:54
South Africans are too clever to follow Zim example. You come with non-sense we will push u out. It is matter of time we will be a crime free society. Last time I was talking to my friends in Atteridgeville. They are happy that the crime in around PTA has decreased, so I believe that they won't stand and watch our country die. Just go around SA and ask the people how they feel, you will be surprised. If you want to feel the people step them on their toes, you will feel the heat. - Tumza

      Unathi- Bad article!!
    27/06/2008 09:55
Unathi, SA is a great country, your speculation and dreams are highly impossible in SA. My broer, you are disappointing me. How can you write such a useless article? You are article gives me not even a desire to comment about the context. - Maanda

two camps in anc to blame
    27/06/2008 09:55
i think post polokwane is responsible for the mess this country is in in the light of anc.anc is so dominant and the so called two camps with devious characters who rightfully or wrongfully supported zuma to oust mbeki who did his part and equally failed when it mattered most.i mean really idiots like malema who suffers from verbal inspection is a case to look at i mean really idi amin is smiling in his grave.this country deserve better. - nate

      WE WILL NEVER GO DOWN...
    27/06/2008 09:58
Although I agree with the article that it is a possibility. I am very positive about our country. I dont think that white people understand this one important fact. SA needs them more than they think. If Zumas allies ever had to take up arms in the way that Vavi says and inevitably go after the white man and all non Zuma (ZULU) suporters, this country will go off the map. they dont want that any more than the next guy...so chin up white guys and non zulus, these bananas are on a leash. - outspoken

      The problem with Africa
    27/06/2008 10:00
I notice a lot of readers think the above article is far from the truth. Certainlly in the spirit of humour the reality has been stretched enormously, however given a few years more & a different election, the above article will be far closer to the truth. In Africa, we have no idea how to model the future, so we won't entertain the concept of the future. This is why many of our readers above, cannot identify & align the article with the distinct possibilities of tommorrow. - Malcolm X

      Hau
    27/06/2008 10:00
Somewhat entertaining satire. Unfortunately many disillusioned ANC supporters who were formerly 'freedom fighters' and terrorists would have few qualms about taking up arms for Zuma. We have already seen with the so-called 'xenophobic' attacks that our people are more than willing to kill their fellow countrymen and instil a culture of fear in those with whom they do not agree. SA is going down the potty - fact. - Schmied

      Interesting - another Bullard?
    27/06/2008 10:05
I enjoyed this article. Gives one another perspective on the situation. To many people this is a very real thought and it has driven some to leave SA. It is interesting though that David Bullard was fired for a very similar article - sad because everyone can see that both these authors are talking hypothetically, hence "imagine". Great article, enjoyed this interesting perspective of what might be if SA is not handled correctly. - JJ

      Not so sure...
    27/06/2008 10:08
Very good read, and something I've been waiting to comment on since Malema's outburst to " take up arms and kill for Zuma". It reminded me so much of the war veterans who would "take up arms and go to war" for Mugabe. A pity that he is someone that the local political leaders are criticing, but defending themselves when they make the same statements. Who says that when Zuma is challenged for presidency in 5 years time, that the youth league will not put their words into action? - Pessimist

      Energy
    27/06/2008 10:10
all you people, i suggest you concentrate your energy towards the crime in our country and leave Zimbabwe alone. Todays headlines, woman and unborn baby murdered, and all you people are giving your intelligent thoughts and what should be done about Zimbabwe. F**K zim and it people worry about our own getting slaughtered. - navs

      Probably...
    27/06/2008 10:24
...NOT that far fetched after all! Remember now, this is dark, barbaric Africa we live in. Anything is possible under black rule! Just maybe one twist in the tale. The Afrikaner Boere might just not fade away that easily. Well, not without a proper fight. Many of us would much rather die fighting if it comes to the push - as our great history shows! - bruce

a Sign of things to come!
    27/06/2008 10:36
This is a possibility! This may not even happen! Ladies and gentlemen, take you rrational brain for a moment, be neutral and objective, do the following: Read all you can about Marxism and Communism. Than come back and say : This is not a possibility - if you can do that honestly - good for you. What ever the direction to the future, black or white, indian, chinese or whatever. People will change the course of history in the next 5 years or so forever, big change to come! - Joe

What are you smoking you fool!!!
    27/06/2008 10:37
Kondile, you are a shame. We don?t need prophets of doom like you here in South Africa. We have too much buggage as it is and if you are going to try and put smiles on the likes of you who never see anything good coming to South Africa while blacks are still in power why don?t you just pack your bags and follow them to Perth? - CB

      Unathi - Funny Article
    27/06/2008 10:42
But, we gotta remain positive, with all the shortcomings and constant hammering that Govt receives from citizens, they actually haven't been completely bad and have helped millions of ppl nevertheless. And that's a fact. It is more than likely ANC will win, but as patriots you have still got to be supportive of the elected Govt. going against them, just makes it harder, wastes time, energy and money. C'mon lets be positive for a change. It's our country after all!!!! - Greg

      Robert Mugabe Visionary
    27/06/2008 11:01
I would just like to say that Robert Mugabe is a visionary leader and an inspiration to all African leaders. His policies are misunderstood by many. I would like to see Malema became the minister of Defence. He is also a visionary leader and an inspriation to the youth of SA. With that kind of leadship we will become a world superpower. With Zuma as president poverty will be eradicated just by his economic policies and we will have 100% literacy here is SA.Unathi you don't see the vision. - John

SA to go the way of Zim ? never ? not again!
    27/06/2008 11:38
I see the world the writer envisages. A believable world only if your life is contained in the realm of our supercilious media. What Polokwane has shown, but not thoroughly reported on, is that the will of the people will prevail. No one, no person, no camp, is above the ANC. Whomever leads the organization and ultimately this government, does so within the rule of law that is entrenched by a constitution and a bill of rights. Within the ANC itself, these leaders are governed by an even more stringent ANC constitution. The ANC has a wealth of good leaders. Who can not only state that they will make the ultimate sacrifice for a free society based on universal human rights, but they have also demonstrated this throughout our struggle years. Can we go the way of Zim, after all, does not Mugabe fit the same description? NO! Because our str
