The rumour of the formation of a splinter group from the ANC seems to be gaining momentum and given the nature of the "internal politics" within the ANC today, it will hardly come as a shock.

The internal divisions within the ANC had to a certain degree necessitated the need for South Africa to wake up to a "new dispensation" where there might be an alternative to the ruling party.

The internal divisions within the ruling party does not augur well for economic stability, prosperity and emancipation of the economic downtrodden who are sadly black members of our communities.

While the ANC held the monopoly of political leadership, astute and effective management of both its internal organisational and governmental discipline, the same cannot be said of the ANC today.

The ANC was roundly and outstandingly known for its discipline and for its principled positions and it was an organisation which has shaped the political history of this country. But now the organisation has seen a systematic decay of the principles and the moral virtues which used to characterise a true cadre of the ANC.

Principles of respect, organisational discipline and moral character used to be an embodiment of this great organisation.

The tacit approval of Julius Malema's "political imbecility" statements such as his "kill for Zuma" statement, his open disrespect and insulting behavior towards elected leaders of the movement like Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe, the open attack on the judiciary by Gwede Mantashe, the unilateral dissolution of the Scorpions and of course the inept decision of recalling Mbeki from the Presidency.

    Fool's gold

Some of these actions which were given tacit approval by the ANC leadership have led some to question the "true identity" of the current ANC. Embarrassing incidents during ANC's conference like shooting of opponents, stabbings and of course unruly behaviours is a sad indictment on the quality of leadership that is at the helm of ANC.

It is clear now that the ANC can no longer enforce organisational discipline and accountability because the leadership wittingly or unwittingly encouraged such a "rot" within the organisation.

The emblem of the ANC without the character, values, virtues and sound political leadership which used to characterise this powerful organisation means nothing and will be like "fool's gold" if the leadership encourages practices which are foreign to this movement.

And it will be good for the incumbent leadership to remember that the great folly will be if they "desecrate" that emblem by their dithering and rudderless leadership which they have shown so far.

The current ANC has alienated certain members of the electorate because the "value systems" of the current leadership of "vengeance", partisanship, narrow-mindedness and the selective enforcement of "discipline" against perceived opponents has led many amongst us, to ask if the ANC is still the ANC of Tambo and Mandela and Sisulu and whether there is a need for an alternative political home.

ANC is NOT a liberation movement.
    08/10/2008 13:59
They only pretended to be one, and still do, and theire uneducated followers STILL believe them. The people at the top of the anc are basically ALL millionaires, living in luxury, every now and then throwing some table scraps towards the masses. The Apartheid government gave blacks a raw deal, but they took care of the rest of the population. The Anc government is ONLY taking care of themselves and theire close buddies, while screwing theire OWN people. This is even MORE evil than apartheid. I, for one am SICK of seeing my hard earned tax money paying for this all! - Juan

      Roll on 2009
    08/10/2008 14:00
It does not make sense to attack Lekota when he raises valid points and yet never condemn Julius Malema when he threatens democracy,it does not make sense to say that lekota should follow protocall when Malema attacks seasoned cadres like Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe without anyone saying anything, The vindictive attitudes and the triamphanist in the ANC NEC has led to all this, people lost in the leadership in north west in 2004, we have never has the problems were leaders were targeted and forced to resign because of their leadership preferences, in fact the president appointed ministers according to their professional skills, within the movement we never had mathematician hence the president requested Mosibudi Mangena to assist in that regard, now the current NEC infested with hypocritical Communist like blade Nzimande have been very vindictive and hijacked the movement, - Kolobe

      Splitsville
    08/10/2008 14:02
Hehehe, very amusing writing style, I like it. If this split does happen, it will be huge. It will usher in the real 'New Order'. I reckon young Julius is shaking in his boots at the prospect. If not, we will have to hang on for another few years sadly. - ramone

ANC politics is like a soapy...
    08/10/2008 14:02
Mommy and daddy is getting divorced. Guess who is the 3rd party? SACP/Cosatu, who stirred until the got Mommy and Daddy to divorce. Now they have such infleunce over Daddy Kangaman, Its them running the show now. You are not really voting for ANC anymore, kids... - HT

      Home Grown African Apples.......
    08/10/2008 14:03
All organizations end up associating with bad apples and usually it only takes 1, with time,to rot the rest of the bunch! This has happened with ANC and between u and me I think Zuma was that "bad" apple...... - Anti-Zuma : Eish, washes corruption , ama quick!

the anc has been in denial of a split
    08/10/2008 14:04
but now i am sure the anc is beginning to stress out very much :-). This new party is going to take many anc votes and as a consequence the anc is going to loose its 2/3 majority hahahaha. What concerns me though is why was zuma and all the other anc top brass reacting so negatively to this new party?zuma said"the party will not last long"what kind of response is this certainly not a democratic response. He should be welcoming this party and wishing it good luck and set anexample.anc is scared:-) - Terence

      Poor Juan....
    08/10/2008 14:06
Can somebody please stop Juan from hurting himself, this dude is the oldest serving commentator and throughout his life he has always being as bitter as this, chief you need to lighten up a bit otherwise for your own sake just migrate to Australia? - Kolobe

      On the Positve...
    08/10/2008 14:06
Political analysts have always dicouraged situations where you get only one party being the strongest, leading to a one party state type of government. Maybe this upcoming split is good for Democracy. - The Native

      Bring it on...
    08/10/2008 14:06
This is what happens when the current ANC lot get big heads and shout their mouths off... bring on the opposition, I'll vote for them! - Chris

      Why ?
    08/10/2008 14:08
Why do we keep on looking at one side of the coin, yes, the ANC leadership has some funny characters(read Malema) but what about the other side, the Lekota's. The ANC will still rule this country, and maybe even better now that everyone knows what to look for in the goverment officials. Lekota can't fool me ? - Squash

      U ANC nothing yet..
    08/10/2008 14:08
This is the party that now behaves so arrogantly since Polokwane, treating the masses like fools while still promising " a better for all"? My foot.. they are so arrogant that they think they will (mis)govern us till Jesus returns.Note to the current leadership..Freedom Charter 1955 "The People shall govern". Currently the leadership(unelected.. nogal) governs! Viva the new party. While at it, can the SACP's "gucci" communists stand alone during elections and stop hiding under the ANC's skirt? - IandI

      Completely agree..
    08/10/2008 14:09
I completely agree with what you say. And added to it, I think the fact that the ANC leadership takes its supporters votes for granted shows how out of touch they are with how people feel about their actions. They claim to speak for the 'people' yet do not listen to the 'people' that criticize them. - GL

      Well written
    08/10/2008 14:12
A very good article, well written.Your article show's insight into the values that the ANC used to stand for.The Values I use to see in the ANC when my father was a member. He is no longer a member, nor I.However, you will be taken apart by the idiots telling you that you are being Disillusioned by the media.Apparently the media prosecuted Zuma.Apparently the media tried everything possible to avoid being proven guilty in court.Apparently the media started knife fights at ANC party meetings etc... - Kolkas

      Moral Highground
    08/10/2008 14:12
It seems that the media has inside knowledge to the daily saga of this faction. In fact, this faction engages with its org thru da media? Now,I am hoping that this crowd expels itself quickly in order for us to proceed with service delivery. The rot is starting to break away from the healthy as it cannot hold on any longer. ANC still holds moral highground despite the theatre. At least now,I dont have to listen to the madam HZ droning voice.. - Cape Town Kid

      You reap what you sow.
    08/10/2008 14:13
The distinguished, old(er) leaders of the ANC, created the monster, called the ANC of today, with simpletons like the Malemas of this world, when they created a culture of no education without liberation, a disobedient society, making SA ungovernable, boycotts, burning of schools, farm attacks etc. We have now got to the stage where these hooligans, from the 70's & 80's are now in charge. What you sow, you shall reap. - Devil's Advocate

      Best thing
    08/10/2008 14:15
This is undoubtedly the best thing that could happen to South African politics. Whenever there is a one-party-state (which is what we effectively have here), the temptation is there to become arrogant, distanced from reality and complacent. We see all of these things in the ANC today. A true econonmy needs robust debate, challenges to the ruling party and a healthy respect for the power of the voters. Bring it on. - Alan

Hand me the popcorn , ,,,
    08/10/2008 14:18
Siener Van Renburg predicted a split in the ANC , Damn he was good. last couple of years a lot of things he predicted happenend , Now go see for your selfs what he predicted further. - charlie

      Where is the "REAL ANC"
    08/10/2008 14:18
As a white African who has sympathy with the plight of the million of impoverished ANC suppoters that stares with hungry eyes at the current leaderSHIP (a guarenteed sinking ship) of the ANC, I wish these supporters best of luck if they continue to support this vacuous new bunch. The previous leadership made many mistakes BUT Better the devils you know than the undemocractical devils you don't know..... - Jason

      Good riddance
    08/10/2008 14:19
Typical of African leaders, they never gives up when time's up,De Klerk was voted out democratically,Mandela did the same(one of a kind in Africa)Mbeki wanted to stay until he was physically removed, masses are attached to the ANC not individuals like Holomisa,Essop Pahad or Lekota - ML

I think the split is brilliant!!
    08/10/2008 14:20
It gives me renewed hope in the future of this country. I had sunk to the depths of despair and saw no future for my country. I thank goodness that their are others within the hallowed halls of the ANC who shared my disgust and have taken the initiative to break away and get back to the original parties policies. My optimism for the future of the country and increased ten-fold. - Karen

      Ruling Party
    08/10/2008 14:20
My Dear friend when will you realise the whatever faction of the ANC you chose the last thing on their minds is the wellbeing of the people. The way they have performed since coming into power tells it all. - A Vythoulkas

@ Kolobe - PROVE ME WRONG
    08/10/2008 14:22
Our education minister lives in a mansion while some schools don't have electicity or running water. Our (ex) health minister got a transplant in a PRVATE hospital while people are dying in our state hospitals. Our (ex) minister of safety and security has numerous bodyguards while 50 people are murdered every day. Is this LIBERATING AND SERVING THE PEOPLE?! Come on! Argue using some facts instead of telling me to go to Aus! - Juan

      Tsunami
    08/10/2008 14:24
I think we should`nt be alarmed by what is happening in the African National Chaos today, after all, somebody once said that Zuma is like a tsunami. As we all know, a Tsunami destroys and that`s what JZ has done. Destroyed the movement - Stanley

      ANC is history
    08/10/2008 14:25
ANC is now run by hooligans, criminals who after settling vendettas with those who disagree with them. South Africa under ANC is slighty becoming like Zimbabwe. How can you lead a country without education. Education does not guarantee good leadership, but without it, what do you expect. This party has lost its intergrity and I'll never vote for them again I am disappointed. I'd rather vote for the new party that might be introduced. Julius Malema does not have respect. - Marks

      I salute you brave man.
    08/10/2008 14:26
In a nutshell, you have mentioned, and talked about what us so obvious to most of us. There are none so blind as they who will not see. You do. Thank you for stating the facts that make us lay awake at night, wondering, praying for our beautiful South Africa, which is being run into the ground by crooks, conmen, rapists and liars. And as you say, those who brought them to power, suffer the most, like animals to the slaughter. May their eyes open too. God Bless Terror and Tutu too. - Alicia

      only the Cape Town Kid..
    08/10/2008 14:27
..believes that the ANC still holds the moral high ground. I am sure that 'Terror' was closer to the inner machinations of the ANC than any of us. If he knows that something is rotten you had better believe it! I'm a dreamer but would it not be wonderful if Madiba showed us which side he supports? - lloyd macklin

      @Cape town kid?
    08/10/2008 14:27
No my dear sister the healty is breaking away from the rot?read Cape Town kid and his uneducated cronies in Malema and Jacob Zuma, the other breakaway prides itself with mathematians, lawyers, accountants?all this contrary to standard three in Jacob Zuma and standard nine in Julius Malema, now let the masses choose the kind of leadership they prefer, if they prefer primary school leaders then they should expect primary school results, when Jacob Zuma was the president he was only tasked to deal with moral regeneration and in the process slept with an HIV positive women without a condom, now compare that to asgisa, jipsa, economic drive in phumzile. - Kolobe

      I agree but...
    08/10/2008 14:28
Aren't the fellas who are splitting from the ANC the same bunch of clowns who have allowed crime, corruption and violence to prosper in this country? Correct me if I'm wrong but I reckon most of the old cabinet will be hopping across to the new party. This country needs something more than the ANC or some "new"pseudo ANC to take charge. It will just be more of the same unfortunately! - Freshly Ground

      Split Imminent
    08/10/2008 14:29
The split is imminent if not the next elections then defiantly the one after that - but I think the current ANC leadership will do anything in there power to hamper the establishment of a viable opposition - some people might be given special bonuses or promises of lucrative positions if they stay with the current ANC. All I can say is that it will be a very exciting few months and I do hope the outcome will be an establishment of a viable opposition as a result of an ANC Split. - colin

      Viva with a new Party
    08/10/2008 14:30
Listening to Phosa comments today, one get a sense that ANC top brass are felling the pinch. Must it take someone like Lekota act like this before they start talking reconciliation? Where was Phosa when Malema was threatening to kill for Kangaman? A split will solve South African economic and social problem. ANC top brass are all millonaires and they continue to screw its own black majority. For how long will this continue? To hell with ANC. - Hard Liner

      ANC politix
    08/10/2008 14:31
I think the breakaway group should retain the name ANC and the existing group can become SACP Extension or Malema's Muppets because that is what they are. - CC

      I dunno
    08/10/2008 14:33
You'e right that the split will not surprise anyone; in fact we would welcome a new party on the scene. However, I have my doubts as to how effective/different this new party will be. Remember that Lekota et al are not leaving over disagreements re policy. So are they going to form a new party with the same policies but diff members/membership rules? - VG

      If Zuma
    08/10/2008 14:33
REALLY wanted to heal the rift in the ANC, he would have resigned. But unfortunately, he wants power more. Dug Lekota's quote this morning "If ur a criminal, black or white, ANC member or not, jailtime". Zuma doesn't have the braincells to make decisions, thats why Malema is his chief advisor. I hope I run into that man someday. In a dark alley. I will KILL for democracy. - Sinudeity@Gmail.com

      "Slamming the Media"
    08/10/2008 14:35
Enjoyed all the ANC leaders 'slamming' the media this morning for perpetuating the belief that theres a RIFT the size of Visriver canyon in the ANC. The MEDIA is in line with how the general public feels, bar the 1 or 2 hardcore ANC diehards. Whats next? ANC censorship? Go back to sleep South Africa. Everything is fine. - Sinudeity@Gmail.com

      ANC LEADS, ANC LIVES
    08/10/2008 14:36
Post Polokwane this might be one of the greatest challenges but ANC has faced serious challenges before and if it was weak party, it wouldn't have survived brutality of apartheid and those who supported it, it's hypocrisy to analyse the challenges facing ANC as if it is due to JZ camp only, TM and his cronnies they still haven't responded to an open inquiry into arms deal WHY? to all those who think this is the death of ANC, they must go and ask PAC or even that one party UDM, - Paul aka the communist Montele

      What are you on?
    08/10/2008 14:36
The ANC was know for its "discipline and its principled positions"?? and "Principles of respect, organisational discipline and moral character used to be an embodiment of this great organisation"?? maybe on your planet - but not in South Africa that is for sure!!! - COS

Kolobe , pls answer me this
    08/10/2008 14:36
Well as the say the truth hurts , I agree with Jaun , All I am asking is not te pay tax anymore as I see Zip for it 0 , Its been a year and 6 months and your govermunts cannot even sort out 10 pages of paper work for my gun license. It took me an hour and a half on the phone yesterday being transferred from the one to the other , Guess what the first white person I spoke to helped me , Now why do I have to stil pay for that service if you want to call it that ? pleas tell me why ? - charlie

Cape Town Kid - Service Delivery
    08/10/2008 14:37
"Now,I am hoping that this crowd expels itself quickly in order for us to proceed with service delivery."- LOVED THAT quote, thanks CTK :) So its a THIRD FORCE thats been preventing Service Delivery, and not incompetence and/or greed. - Sinudeity@Gmail.com

      What ANC needs now ...
    08/10/2008 14:38
I am an ANC loyalist, however im not blind to their recent mishaps. What ANC needs now is an opposition that will keep them on their toes on service delivery. I am wishing for a strong opposition for the betterment of this country. - bee

      viva new party viva
    08/10/2008 14:39
Very well written,ANC has changed, people have changed ,South africa has changed come new party South africa wiill be a great place to live in - Maphosa

      @Kolobe
    08/10/2008 14:44
All very true. Let's just hope the splinter party happens, and challenges the ANC properly. And lets hope that the average Joe on the street, don't buy into the false propaganda election promises the ANC will come up with over the next months leading up to the election. - hopeful

Can we now ask Lekota if he knows who else is
    08/10/2008 14:45
involved in the arms deal:-) hopefully the anc has made him angry enough to spill the beans, lol the anc is much better than the flintstones! - Vicky

      Conspiricy Theory!?
    08/10/2008 14:45
What are the chances of the ANC staging a new party to get the opposition parties' votes? Then after the elections they form a coalition!? - Lee

      Warning to the ANC
    08/10/2008 14:52
Your complacency is causing South Africans to take drastic measures. Push us further, and we will be forced to speak your language. Mass actions, and riots like you have never seen! Not wearing yellow shirts, but we will be burning plenty. Will burn alot more. Until you are SCARED of us, the people. - Sinudeity@Gmail.com

      @Freshly Ground
    08/10/2008 14:52
If I remember correctly...it was Mbeki that fired Jacob Zuma for corruption...and If I remember correctly Yengeni,Blade Nzimande,Winnie Mandela...all suscessfully convicted of corruption are in the current ANC NEC...all the people that have resigned with the president have never had a slight or smell of corruption...now who is the criminal between the two...in fact non of their departments received disclaimers from the Aditor General... - Kolobe

      @Charlie
    08/10/2008 14:55
Siener van Rensburg is a popular theme for the Boeremag and the Suidlanders. They enjoy using/abusing Siener's prophecies to terrify Afrikaans people. If you give enough time propability of ANYTHING happening is high. Like the tabloids- they keep saying celeb couple is getting divorce until it happens. Splitting of political parties happens very often, not just in SA!. - HT

      Kolobe
    08/10/2008 14:55
Hey Bru you don't do too badly yourself...you are forever commenting on this forum. Stop behaving like JZ and allow everyone a say without knocking them. You really are a tot! - BlackInk

      Banana Split
    08/10/2008 14:55
Now wouldn't that be a fitting title to the ANC's long anticipated split? - Charl

      ANC...Service delivery
    08/10/2008 15:04
HA HA HA HAAA! That is the best joke I have heard in a long time. You have got to be kidding Cape Town Kid (with your terrible MXit typing), I can't wait for elections, I will be at the front of the line to vote for the break-away party! Viva Democracy!! - Nicole

      Good idea - Lekota
    08/10/2008 15:11
I think Terror has been true to himself by coming forward and challenge the insanity happening in the ruling party. We cannot ignore the fact that the whole chaos is a result of tyring to keep JZ from jail. People within the ANC have forgotten that the NEC started only as 'Friends of JZ'. Now that he has won the Presidency and has tasted victory in his trial. We need someone within the ANC to stand up and object to the 'direction' the ANC is taking. - Mandla

Taking back our movement from thugs....
    08/10/2008 15:13
How can anyone we remain loyal to an abusive husband? we love the anc but now they have taken things too far, the anc is now finally in the hands of populists and headless chickens like Julius Malema, the recall of the president was the last straw, enough now,how can a person that dedicated 40 years in the movement like President Mbeki be humiliated by young uncircumcised boys like Julius Malema? Such is the greatest disrespect of the president,we are now really to take the movement back from the thugs. - Kolobe

      So true...
    08/10/2008 15:16
Good article, summed it up very nicely. - keifie

      Lee..
    08/10/2008 15:16
I was thinking the exact same thing. The result of a new party will not result in new faces in government, but in more power to the same faces. - greggo

Just split and let people decide.
    08/10/2008 15:18
I take Lekota's announcement with a pinch of salt. He promises a split if certain conditions are not met. What if the ANC decides to meet the conditions, does it mean there won't be a splinter party? My point here is Lekota must realize that he is speaking to people with aspirations and minds. He must no use us as a bargaining too. - JIGGA

      @Kolobe
    08/10/2008 15:19
Judging from your most resent comments, it seems that you are all for this "New ANC" party. I am a little confused as up until yesterday you were telling all and sundry to vote for the present ANC. Something does not fit, which is it going to be, the ANC or the "New"ANC? - Sven Gohre

Yes Paul, I'm sure you are skipping in the mountains now. SACP/Cosatu boosted Zuma in the position he is now, and I'm sure they "engineered" this split with their meddeling. And I'm sure your great support for ANC right now is because you know current ANC leadership is now communism's bitch and that we will see their involvement in ANC policies more and more until you get what you want: SA to be full-blown Communist state. COMRADE! - HT

"no one should listen to Cape Town kid, guys im telling you he never makes sense" - Cape Town Kid is a woman, according to an interview with her by News24 a while back. And no, she never makes sense. Just the other day she expressed herself in favour of the Cuban model of transformation. Now what kind of plonker uses Cuba as a model for ANYTHING? - Cynical

First they drive away the colonialists ...
    08/10/2008 15:27
First they drive away the colonialists and then the bickering drives them to each others throats.Oh Africa. When will your people learn? Power corrupts everything, even the brothers, the comrades, the bra's, the bro's - tt

      communists
    08/10/2008 15:29
granted the ANC has got its own problems. but if it was not for the communists and COSATU meddling in their affirs we would not get to this. could they please also split and stand on their own in the elections so the so we can see if they will get 500 votes. - sipho

Shouldn't you be in school? What you on about factions-service delivery is what SHOULD have be done all the time! Then again, we really can't expect that from confused ranting kids can we? - lekkalik

      Mbeki kosher??
    08/10/2008 15:38
Why did Mbeki go so easily. I have yet to see that he sues the Times for saying he took R30M. Interesting the ANC who took the R30M fired him, maybe they never received it??? - Carl Muller

      Call me Racist.......
    08/10/2008 15:41
if you want, but why the big surprise - In every african party you get an eventual split into two or more factions all vying for political power. MDC, ANC just the two latest examples. Been saying for years that the ANC couldnt manage their way out of a paper bag - and now I need to revise that view - The ANC couldnt manage there way out of a soap bubble. Dimwits. - Stryker

What are you lot so worked up about?
    08/10/2008 15:42
Nothing will come from this so called split. The ANC cannot even manage to do that effectively. - TB

    08/10/2008 15:51
I would love to hear why it takes the so competent ANC a year and 6 months to sort out 10 pages of paperwork ? - charlie

hahaha Paul, except for the anc now doesn't enjoy
    08/10/2008 15:51
support, respect and loyalty it once enjoyed during apartheid. Your vote for anc now is equal to condoning reckless malema to stuff around with our country and zuma to continue thinking he is above the law! and that just can't happen! we didn't come this far for this! - Vicky

Cuba is a great model for cigars. If you don't like what CTK has to say, just ignore her. A rant doesn't have to make sense as it has a single purpose - to get a response. If you must read the rant, read it and chuckle, perhaps shake your head in dismay and move on. - CTheB

A certain book with the title of "Animal Farm" comes to mind. Do yourself (and the rest of us) a favour and read that book before you continue with your shallow communist rhetoric. Maybe a few chapters from economics 101 wouldn't hurt either. - witseun

      anc split wont shock
    08/10/2008 16:04
I think lekota believes he was born to lead and not to be lead like all the despots from all over the continent. The lesson is it wrong a true leader accepts defeat by democratic means,so must Lekota if he is a democrat he claims to be.Secondly Lekota can not pose a threat to anc as he realy does not have a constituency, except for his sudden no 1 supporter the media. come election time next year, may be he will get one 4 seats in parliament and go sleep there. Skopino - sandile

    08/10/2008 16:05
Cape Town kid seems to be the only one interrogating issues beyond the propaganda fed to us by the media and some scumbags in this forum. The ANC has always had breakaway idiots who are power hungry and who cannot accept a new guard within the organisation. Follow the ANC history and you'll realise that they prospered beyond some idiots breaking away. Your excitement and hope for an ANC collapse is based on empty dreams. - Cooler box

      Where is real ANC?
    08/10/2008 16:09
I do strongly agree that there are divisions within the ANC and this current leadership does not uphold the principle of freedom charter and it is letting people down, the splinter party is a way to go.. - concernedafrican

      IT'S PERFECTLY NATURAL
    08/10/2008 16:10
The cycle continues - Liberation Movement to Power Movement to The Fall. Happened after the Afrikaners liberated themselves from British opression. Started with noble intentions. Ended in shame. PS Lee: You think like the ANC leaders - trained to think like Russians! Well done! - Liberation Movement to Power Movement to The Fall

This is a democratic country, and it's a democratic right to start a new Party. Deal with it, get over it, and get back to work before I fire you all. And then you will have problems - Your Baas

Siener also predicted USA and Europe to be bankrupt, causing great choas internationally. He said at that time SA would be strong and be a safe haven for those fleeing USA and Europe. The prophecies of how there will be a genocide in SA upset people so much, I feel like fleeing to the mountains when Siener is mentioned. Not from the possible genocide, but from the prophecies. - HT

      Good news
    08/10/2008 16:16
Its time for this party to see that they are not all that!! I do expect that the party will splinter- What do they expect after turning things into a debacle? The former generation believed in change and equality wheras these new youngsters want to kill and intimidate- The sooner, the better...only problem being i expect that things will go the way of Zim with 2 factions killing each other over the split. Remember the Inkatha and ANC killing fields during the 90's?? - Blikkies

      @Juan, patrick mkhanzi, kolobo
    08/10/2008 16:19
Juan "I for one have realised as well that one cannot have a constructive argument with Kolobo @ Patrick." They think they are soo intelligent but when questioned on anything...they dont have the answers....Kinda like the ANC gov....hmmmmmmm BTW we moan because ANC have dragged us back 100 years. And this country is as much ours as yours! - James

      ANC split
    08/10/2008 16:23
I don't trust the mother ANC or its split but if there had to be a split, I would consider voting for them. If there is strong opposition, we may perhaps start to see some service delivery in this beautiful country of ours and whoever wins will have to pull their sockd if they still need votes again - Mimi

"Cape Town kid seems to be the only one interrogating issues beyond the propaganda fed to us by the media". Really? Ha ha ha ha keep telling yourself that over and over and one day you'll believe it. Between the two of you, I'd say you have a combined IQ of about 1, if that. Haaaaa ha ha ha ha...... - Cynical

    08/10/2008 16:26
As far as I know, Kolobe was going to vote for the 'educated' party. If I remember well, he was recently considering voting for the AZAPO. He said he does not need leaders that are still in the "struggle" but people who can solve the current problems we are facing in SA today. Is that rght Kolobe? - Mimi

      Crisises,miniskirts and fast cars....et al
    08/10/2008 16:27
Allow me correct, the majority of ANC members have 100% confidence in their leadership. The leadership is a collective. It is only the middle-class who cannot understand this position, why?Becos it's in yr interest to see a capitalist ANC and not a socialist ANC.We are clear about out program. The theatre of the breakaways is "old". We've seen this b4.Hence let yr creative juices salivate,at the end of the day, the ANC belongs to the ANC members and no-one else. He who larfs last, larfs the best! - Cape town Kid

THANKS COOLER BOX AND AS USUAL CAPE KID
    08/10/2008 16:28
IT IS QUITE SHOCKING THAT COMMENTS ON THIS FORUM ARE COMING FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACCESS TO INTERNET AND SO FORTH, INSTEAD OF INTERROGATING ISSUES LIKE SOCIALISM AND ANALYSING THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS, THE ONLY THING THAT YOU WILL GET IS NARROW AND BIASED ANALYSIS FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE DIRECTION, - Paul aka the communist Montele

      @Cooler box
    08/10/2008 16:29
Propaganda? Perhaps you should google the words "Ad hominem", read Animal Farm, Mein Kampf and a bit of international history (try China, Russia, Cambodia) to see exactly how far up the garden path messrs Nzimande, Vavi, Cronin, etc are leading you. - mallencolly

      @Sipho (SACP/Cosatu involvement)
    08/10/2008 16:30
What extreme lefts are actually doing is using ANC as the sugar to their medicine. They will propobably not get so many votes without the tripartite alliance with ANC (which they are now abusing to push their agenda). But then again, alliance with Cosatu gives ANC a bit more control over "the workers". I'm afraid the SACP/Cosatu influence on ANCYL and Zuma will cause us HUGE choas and misfortune in the not-so-distant future. We should really be worried about this. Well, lets hope I'm wrong. - HT
