  • Here is a selection of letters that we didn't have time to publish during the course of this week, as well as this week's leaderboard winner.

Has any of the media people thought about Natasha Sutherland Hofmeyr suing Janine for having an affair with her husband and for causing all the heartache to her and her children?

Why is it only Janine's case that is so strong? Perhaps Natahsa should be less of a lady and sue the pants off the adulteress that caused so much heartache in her life.

I am astounded that Gavin Prins is so outspoken and on Janine's side. Has he ever considered what she has done to Natasha?

Steve has already had his punishment but Janine is walking away the hero in the story! Please go back to Dozi, Janine as even Muriel could not live with him but you could as you are just after their money anyway! - Yvonne

Crime due to poverty. This is true to an extent, but what does poverty have to do with murdering a father for his wallet, raping a mother in front of her children for electric goods, assaulting a granny for her TV?

If you need to steal in order to survive, I can comprehend it, but why all the violence associated with it?

I have spoken to thieves and seven out of 10 agree, they will not do hard labour or work for a salary as it's easier to steal a couple of goods in one night and make a couple of thousand rand.

The less work, the more money, the better. Poverty of moral values is more the case. - Sanette

Ten years in Australia has delivered safety, prosperity, happiness and a great education for my children. We arrived with less than A$25 000 to start a new life after being robbed at gunpoint on one occasion.

On the second occasion I almost killed three young South African's after being robbed and firing six rounds at the "getaway" car. We live in a suburb with many other South Africans with no high fences, no burglar bars and best of all, no guns. My children travel at any time of the day or night in safety without the fear of high-jacking, rape or murder.

I am self employed and my income is the equivalent of R1 750 000 per annum. I own twohouses with my wife and three investment properties with partners (one of the partners is a South African).

News24 user Daniel Roberts (published October 6 2008) is an idiot if he believes that the obsession with race and religion are the main reason people left South Africa. Yes, the grass is greener on the other side. - Stephen Pienaar

So Bridgette Bardot is at Sarah Palin's neck about her views and policies. Bardot should realise that Palin is no slouch when it comes to saying and doing what she wants - and rightly so.

The words "maybe", "may", "possibly" and "could" about oil exploration and what it may do to the environment is taken to mean "will" by Bardot. How can she substantiate her claim that this will have an effect on the environment?

She should rather leave politics to those who have done time in the right channels and not sit on the sidelines and criticise. She's an ex actress (and not he best either - all she had was 'looks' so to speak) - but a rather pathetic actress.

Apart from nothing what did she do for the world - oh yes, she wore fur skin - now that's a plus! quite sickening. Enough said. - Michael Floyd

If you are so super-content, and don't look back at moving - why on earth are you still reading South African news sites?? We don't need you bashing us patriots who chose to stay here for our country and patriots - enjoy your luxuries and life - but leave us SA people alone - you have a new home now! - L
