Cape Town - Calling all aspiring political commentators. We're looking for people like you to blog ahead of the 2009 national elections...
Do you hold strong political views? We're looking for dedicated people to blog on behalf of their chosen political party on MyNews24 blogs.
So how do you get to be one of the chosen few?
Simply send us a motivating letter as to why you think YOU should be picked as a MyNews blogger covering the party of your choice. Send us your personal details and contact information, and a sample of your writing and/or blogs to support your application.
We'll be picking bloggers from across the political spectrum, who represent the diversity of South African society, so the more interesting and varied your application is, the better chance you have of being selected.
Should your blog take off, we'll start to feature you on News24. Who knows, you could make a name for yourself as a popular breakout political commentator.
There are a few rules though, so bear this in mind:
News24 will select the bloggers, and can at any time remove your blog from the elections blog pool;
Election bloggers will need to update their blogs regularly and respond to comments timeously (bear this in mind before you apply - if you can't update them regularly, we won't continue your blog);
Election blogs can't be used for self-promotion;
Fraudulent representation of your proposed blog (i.e. if you say you'll blog about one party, but start blogging about another) could result in your blog being deleted;
Election blogs will need to adhere to all of 24.com's standard blogging terms and conditions;
No profit can be made directly from your election blog
The pool of election bloggers can be altered - increased or decreased - at any time based on News24's discretion.
If you're up for the challenge, e-mail your application details to mynews@news24.com. We'll be in touch via e-mail as to whether your application has been successful.
