VIDEO: Fire in Hout Bay

Cape Town - Nearly 200 people were left homeless following a shack fire in the Mandela Park informal settlement near Hout Bay in the Cape Peninsula.

News24 User Annie Giliam sent us these photos of the fire.

"Please take note of the photo of the helicopter over the bay - reports were being made that the fire was being fuelled by "heavy winds" but as you can see there is not a ripple on the water. it was a calm, hot, sunny afternoon."
