MyNews24, News24's citizen journalism platform and Play, 24.com's exciting new video sharing destination, want to see your filmmaking prowess!
Upload your video to the theme of 'That's News to Me' to the MyNews24 section of Play, and send the URL to mynews@news24.com along with your name and contact details.
We'll feature some of the best 'That's News to Me' videos on MyNews24, where you stand a chance to win R500 in cash.
So how do you get started?
Uploading your video on Play is simple!
All you need is a 24.com account and your video file.
Getting started:
1. Go to the Play homepage
2. Click on the Upload button.
3. If you aren't logged in with your 24.com ID, Play will prompt you to login.
4. Click on Login in here, login with your 24.com ID, if you don't have one you can click on Sign up now on the login page and follow the simple steps.
5. If you are a first time user, you will need to set up a short URL. (A Short URL is the link that you can give to your friends and family to access your videos, it is your unique Play video link.)
6. Give your video a Title
7. Tell us what it's about
8. Choose the my.News24 flava
9. Click on the Next button
10. Click on the Browse button and find where you have saved the file on your computer.
11. Select the file and click on the Upload button.
12. Play will start transferring the file to our video convertor; don't leave this page until you get the confirmation message that your video has been uploaded successfully.
Viewing your video:
1. You can click on My Vids, this lists all the videos that you have uploaded.
2. Please note that it may take a few moments before you are able to see your newly uploaded video as it needs to be processes by our file convertor.
Editing your video details:
1. Click on My Vids
2. Select Edit Video Info, you can edit your Title, What your videos about and move it to another flava, just remember to click on Save when you're done.
Deleting a video:
1. Click on My Vids
2. Select Permanently delete this video.
3. Confirm that you want to delete. Please note that once you delete a video, it cannot be retrieved by the system and is gone forever.
