Discus champ in disgrace
Athens - Hungary's Olympic discus champion Robert Fazekas is to be stripped of his gold medal after being caught trying to switch his urine sample during a mandatory drugs test, an International Olympic Committee source confirmed on Tuesday.
Fazekas, who won the gold medal with a throw of 70.93 metres in Monday night's final, will now be expelled from the Games, the IOC source said.
The 29-year-old European champion becomes the second track and field gold medallist in Athens to be stripped of their title for a doping offence.
Russian women's shot put winner Irina Korzhanenko had her gold taken away and was thrown out of the Games on Monday after testing positive for the banned steroid stanozolol.
