Jones in long jump final

Athens - Triple Olympic champion Marion Jones qualified for the Olympic long jump final on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old made it through on her second jump with a mark of 6.70 metres, having put in a no-jump on her first one.

Jones had failed to qualify for her two preferred individual events, finishing fifth in the 100 metres at the US trials and pulling out of the 200m.

She has been subject to allegations over taking performance-enhancing drugs, including claims by her ex-husband CJ Hunter that he injected her during the 2000 Olympic Games.

She emphatically denies all such allegations.
