Pittman look to drop hurdles

Sydney - Olympic 400m hurdles finalist and world champion Jana Pittman of Australia said on Thursday that she was considering switching to the 400m flat race to ease the pressure on her injured knee.

"It has definitely crossed my mind that next season I wouldn't mind running the 400 flat," Pittman told Sky News Australia after finishing fifth in the medal race at Athens just 17 days after undergoing knee surgery.

"It would be a little bit less pressure on the knee and I'd enjoy something different because I've had quite an emotional rollercoaster ride," she said.

"I'm sure (coach) Phil (King) will be the boss of the outcome."
